pmsl you expect anybody who knows anything abut athletics to believe a 16 year old who trained twice a week ran a 1.46 800m?

are you aware of how fast that is?

that's like a national level time

Silvio, I said He ran twice a week, He trained 6 days a week. I decided because of age and a new technique which I have developed, a change in training would benifit Him which it did, simply we cut the impact out. This also applied to a very good Female Triathlete, who for 9 months of doing no running, won a race she won the year before reducing Her time, by 7 minutes. Just making I thought a point, about Running and Fitness.

Mate the guy who won silver in the 800m in the 2010 World Junior Championships ran a 1:46.57, and that was a new personal best for him.

Furthermore, the same guy (Loxsom) ran a 1:50 at high school level, which placed him in the top 10 for US senior high school athletes [ie. people aged 18] at the 800m. Maybe you should tell him about the "new technique" you've developed? Your country's Olympic coaching team would probably be interested to hear about it as well.

I am not going to believe that some 16 year old you trained runs a 1:46. You're insulting my intelligence.

Shame you dont like road work. I love it but also use football (soccer), shaddow boxing and skipping to mix up days.

Ever thought about doing local road races? this could give you the passion you need to make running enjoyable. Because then every time you do one you are trying to beat your last time. Just dont become addicted like i have. I have gone from doing doing 10k runs 3 months ago to to doing 10 mile runs..... Now i have a marathon in october.

Try to make it competitive (against yourself) and maybe you will start enjoying it more.

If not maybe a running machine in your house so you can watch TV at the same time?

Why not it will be out shortly. Its something thats been worked on for years as regards testing. A vertical Treadmill, where you are Horizontal while running. Advantages no impact, Makes the Heart work 35% more efficiantly, produces 35% more Lactic in steady state 140 bpm. Interestingly while at vo2 max it produces 22% less lactic, which should help shuttle. Hallam Uni, the Sports Science department are in love with it. The sports Council are sponsoring it, and the Proffessors think Im the dogs Bollocks :good

Excellent advice. I spice my soccer playing up by doing pullups on the goal post when I sprint down to one w the ball.
