I kind of agree with that.
When people start grading the "quality of opposition" when determining the strength of resume, they are really talking in the same terms as "head to head"

Under London Prizering Rules- where you could pick up, bodyslam and land on top of your opponent and wrestle them around in the clinches- I would take Jeffries and Liston over just about everyone.

    I'm ducking it.

I can never decide on a list. As soon as I done it I want to change it.

    Some others worth mentioning.

    James J Jeffries
    Max Baer
    Max Schmelling
    Tim Witherspoon

New h2h list - i forgot about david Tua before.

    1. Ali
    2. Foreman - Only Ali of 1964-"74 can beat this wrecking machine at his "73/"74 peak best.
    3. Lewis
    4. Holmes
    5. Bowe
    6. Holyfield
    7. Louis
    8. Old Foreman* - still has incredible strength/power and has even more iron chin than wehn he was young.
    9. Frazier
    10. Wlad
    11. Liston
    12. Marciano
    13. Johnson - underated these days, but could give anyone a hard fight using defensive skill and for instance beat tyson by countering and grappling, outboxing him, like old washed-up Holyfeild did to a prime version.
    14. David Tua - almost same style as tyson, but had a lot better chin and stamina.
    15. Tyson - Lack of heart and stamina holds him back.
