Pwill has stated many times over that WW is his preferred division. Behind the top 2 (pac & may) you have to consider Pwill as the next best credible opponent at 147. Finally, it makes no sense for Pac to fight Margo the cheater at this point. Mosley has knocked him out, he has disgraced the sport and Pwill has already beaten Margo.

Goosen has already stated that is the fight they want more than anything right now.

"If Floyd takes this fight, it'd do more at the gate and on pay-per-view than Mayweather-[Shane]Mosley did. Paul's fresher than Mosley, he's established himself, he'd make a real fight. The days of Pacquiao against the recyclables like [Joshua] Clottey, [Miguel] Cotto or [Antonio] Margarito are over too. You make a fight with the recyclables and it hurts the sport. If Pacquiao-Mayweather is not made, the focus has to go to Paul Williams."

they aint avoiding him. lets see him beat a legitimate 147 pounder sometime soon and he might have a point.

his last 2 fights at 147 where 2 years ago(give or take) and he went 1-1 with quintana.

now was he to beat the likes of berto and mosley or cotto or any decent 147 pounder he might well have a claim.

first. how long ago was that?

second. in his next fight he lost convincingly to quintana.

i think the pac fight vs margo is bull****, but he aint avoiding williams. williams has done nothing at 147 for years.

And then KO"d him in the rematch.

He hasn't done anything in years at 147 because Pac, Floyd, and Shane avoided him so he was forced to move up but always kept one foot in the division just in case their balls dropped.

A Win over Plaster-Boy Margarito for a title + being avoided by the big names like Pac, Shane and Floyd is all you need.

That is when Margo was in his prime and likely cheating to boot. Much more meaningful win then fighting margo right now will ever be. That was also when margo was considered the most avoided guy in boxing and the bad ass in the division.

Mayweather is a welterweight, Paul isn't.

Pacquiao, well according to Bob Arum Williams isn't a draw(but Clottey is?)

oh ye, people avoided him so he had to move up in weight. what about cotto, berto and clottey? or did all them avoid him too?

the truth is he fought 1 round at 147 in the 2nd half of 2008. that doesnt just grant him a fight vs the best 147 pounders today. he should prove himself against the yop contenders in that division if he wants to fight the best.

yes it was, and we agree it was a looooong time ago. since then he lost to quintana, rematched him and then moved up in weight. he didnt stay at 147 and fight anyone else.

If Williams wants to be taken seriously as a welterweight then he needs to have a fight at 147 rather than talking about it.

By taking out Clottey or Berto he will at least get the likes of HBO and ESPN talking him up as an opponent rather than just people on forums.

Paul isnt at the point in his career where he has top prove anything at 147 to deserve a shot. That is just ridiculous. Berto, clottey..are you being for real? Paul is the best credible opponent right now for anyone at 147.

He isnt some prospect or contender, he is a 2/3 division champ.

how is he a 2/3 division champ?

PW is a 1 division champ, with 0 successful title defenses in his entire career.

no he aint a 2/3 division champ. he won two title fights. he should be a two division champ cos he beat verno phillips.

listen he hasnt fought at 147 in 2 years. if he is comfortable at 147 why is this the case? and please dont try telling me you see wins over kolle and phillips as better than berto and clottey?
