Im not going to go deeper into it but does anyone else see a pattern for the posters that voted Alexander?
Yea, and? The majority on this site (and other Boxing websites) had Jacobs winning or had it a draw. Nobody, or at least not very many, had Pirog winning. Comparing this and that one is way out of left field. No real similarities besides the fact that both fights had a young, American, and a Euro.
I agree with this. Jacobs was actually winning those rounds CLOSELY, because he was landing more punches than Pirog. This fight however, Kotelnik, was clearly in control, dictating the pace of the fight and landing the cleaner shots.
When all 3 judges score every close round for the home fighter, that's usually a sign that it's not going to be a good night for the visiting man unless the KO happens. Though I had it even at 2 apiece and could see 3-1 for Jacobs depending on judging style, all 3 scoring it the exact same way didn't bode well for Pirog if Jacobs could've lasted the distance. In terms of tonight, that none of the 3 judges found more than 4 rounds to give to Kotelnik tells me he had no chance to win short of a fluke knockout. The betting money knew this, and that's why the odds were so lopsided.
Are you saying that they are all from the same state as Devon and are rooting for their boy or something else entirely? :smoke
Kotelnik won; you could give Alexander all the truly close rounds and not serve him better than a draw.
Kotelnik, 116-112 on my card. Clean punching and a better defense carrying the day over punch output.
I had it a draw. I think Mickey Mouse's defense got a little exposed. He was being timed by Kotelnik all night long.
