Absolutely no doubt: GSP is the p4p king of MMA

I think I made the point that GSP got knocked out, but has redeemed himself by winning 7 straight fights in dominating fashion since. Yes, when it happened it was a low moment for GSP and definitely bumped him down significantly in the P4P rankings. But I don't think you can punish GSP indefinitely for that loss when he's done so much since to assert himself as an incredibly dominant fighter.

Anderson was totally dominated tonight and has looked lackluster in his recent performances. While technically he hasn't lost, in my opinion, tonight's beatdown and near loss provides enough reason to give GSP #1 P4P spot.
I'm not taking away from Anderson's win, since it's amazing to pull out a victory from certain defeat that late in the fight. But I'm also not going to ignore that fact that he was getting the **** kicked out of him for 4.5 rounds.

If GSP's KO loss had happened recently then you might have a better reason to bring it up. But as it stands, GSP has looked totally unbeatable in his recent fights. Silva certainly didn't tonight.

 

What hasn't been taken into account though is Silva is 35 years old man, he's not always gonna turn on the style at this stage of his career, plus the guy clearly had problems before the fight, first there's the rumours about his ribs being injured, then there's the fact that his whole training camp for this fight was changed because he wasn't allowed to return back to brazil due to visa problems, so the man clearly had issues coming into this fight, but still he remains unbeaten in the cage and has won twelve in a row, i'm sorry i just can't agree that GSP is better right now.

 

Those excuses are irrelevant when taking into account performances in the ring, and subsequently the rankings that follow. GSP provided excuses after his loss to Serra but those were also irrelevant.

Obviously you can still rank Silva #1, but I suspect you'll now be in the minority after tonight's fight.

 

im not a silva fan and i dont give a shyte about the p4p rankingz but regardless to silva being dominated for 4 roundz he WON the fight

 

until somebody gets GSPs number and knocks him out right?

Hardy is the definition of mediocre and if he didnt own a British passport would have never stepped foot in a title fight in his entire life.

GSP has faced everybody hes needed to face at WW. But doesnt reflect how poorly the division is in my opinion. The 2nd best WW is a one-dimensional fighter. Hes damn great at his one-dimension but nonetheless nobody has an answer for him. Shields is pretty damn one-dimensional himself and I believe hes a top 3 WW as well.

However, GSP beats Silva. Despite the size difference. And he wouldnt be an idiot like Sonnen.

with anderson silva only a dominating win will do.

I wouldn't go that far. If Sonnen beats Silva in a rematch or at least shows the same dominance he did just recently, I'd favor GSP to beat Silva. Some people say Silva's win was a fluke. How do we know Silva's rib injury wasn't hindering him? Again, the outcome of a rematch will be indicative of where Silva really stands.
