Eddie Chambers' Trainer in the Wlad fight.

The net total of his advice came down to this:

    C'mon man!

No idea why these fighters even bother having these guys in the corner.

That was exactly what Chambers needed to do though.

Indeed. If he had to be told in detail what punches to throw he had no business being there in the first place. I bet Chambers knew exactly what was expected of him.

In this particular case yes, because Chambers needed to let his hands go. But as a general point, a trainer should be taking note of any mistakes the opponent is making and giving short, concise advise on how to execute, or pointing out his fighters own mistakes. anyone who has been with multiple trainers will be able to feel the difference between someone who can think and adjust the strategy of the fight, helping his fighter deal with adversity, and someone who just shouts "common man, he's tired over and over again". But I personally dont think there are many good trainers like that around!

Ive already mentioned this on here, but the worst I've hurd is one of my old trainers telling me "please don't get knocked out" as I was getting in the ring. and this was my first bout since being stopped for the first and only time. ****ing moron.

It makes sense to keep your fighters grounded and prevent them from being cocky in the gym, but once they are at the venue, you should be getting them mentally focused and confident!

Enzo Calzaghe dont half spout spout some ****.

He put added pressure on Enzo Maccarinelli saying he would give Haye such a bad beating he would never box again.

    He dosent believe in skipping.

Enzo Calzaghe is the type of trainer who can get a fighter hurt - because he will kid them they are good enough even if they are out of their depth.

Calzaghes lack of technique really shone through and never sparred before fights either. A miracle how he made so much.

"Anyone can be successful at heavyweight right now. I could fatten up Joe to 17 and a half stone and he would win the title. Wladimir Klitschko is the worst heavyweight champion I have seen in my life. He's worse than Primo Carnera" - Enzo Calzaghe

my old trainers were great but had no clue what so ever about nutrition/diet

they would tell boxers carbs are bad or to eat less to make weight or to eat a lemon the night before the weigh in etc etc

Don't know how true this is but my trainer says to rub baby oil all over your stomach before you workout to lose more weight because it opens your pores and makes you sweat more. I googled it and couldn't find nothing on it.
