So basically the HW division prior to his era.

The first question is more of what I'm looking for. I think it is the more fair question along with the third.

Who would you "Favor" over him...we'll just say that.

    1. No, I don´t think so. Dempsey has the best shot but he won´t take Rocky out who in turn would grind him down and stop him late in one of the greatest ever. Maybe Langford has a shot but there´s not enough video evidence to support this.

    2. No, I think there would be a few who just have the right combination of size, skill, determination and durability. Holmes I think would do the trick. It would be close and he wouldn´t look pretty afterwards but he I think he would beat him. Others would be prime Louis, prime Ali, Lewis, Johnson (under his rules). Perhaps Holyfield, Jeffries (under his rules).

    3. Johnson under the rules of his times I think. That´s it. Jeffries, Langford and Dempsey have a decent chance.

Under 200, I think Dempsey has an excellent shot. Holyfield too. Definitely the under 200 version of Joe Louis as well.

...And the eleven-year-old Valuev. 185 lbs, lightning fast, strong as an ox, mind of a chess master, etc.

Both Holy and Louis weren´t refined and experience enough to beat a machine like prime Marciano when they were under 200 pounds IMO.

I dont know about Holyfield, but I definitely think the Louis who demolished Schemling in 1 round would have beat Marciano.

Maybe not, but I give them good chances. Holy after two with Dwight and one with Carlos, inexperienced, but the experience he had was very good. Same goes for Louis. Ramage, Baer, Carnera...Not at his peak yet, but the experience was good.

They definitly were but good enough to beat a Marciano? Sorry, I can´t picture it. If Holy fights Marciano like he did Qawi he won´t see the 12th, not even talking about the 15th round. Louis chances are better but I guess his lack of experience will be the deciding factor. Marciano is no Carnera or Baer (who I actually give a decent chance against Rocky).

He wasn´t asking for under 200 pounders in 2 and three. :good

I find threads like this to be a little bit skewed in favour of the predictable.

Of course many fighters under 200lbs could beat him with the right triangulation of circumstance and a couple nearly did.

There's many who would beat. Joe Louis fought often under 200 pounds. Joe Louis would beat Marciano handily. And don't even mention that time when Rocky defeated Louis in 1951. Louis was in poor shape that time and he shouldn't have even fought, but he was in desperate need of money.

Out of modern fighters first that comes to mind is Roy Jones jr.

Dozens of fighters over 200 pounds could defeat Rocky. There's too many to mention.

Joe Louis. Not 100% sure about others.

Jack Johnson was 192 for Burns and I'd definitely pick him ...

Langford would put his lights out ..

Tunney would haver an amazing shot ...

    Dempsey is pick'em

    Fitz is pick'em .. I favor Fitz ...
