The definitive Devon Alexander vs Andriy Kotelnik Scorecard

Well either your comprehension skills is duelly inadequate or you are riled up over nothing since you are have repeatedly tried to reject my point that you use Compubox numbers as a basis of how to score a round. Michigan educational standards continue to dissappoint.

 

Someone asked you why'd you score a certain round for Alexander and your answer is.

Oh, and congrats about having floors, we got those to and more where I went to school in California.

 

In almost all rounds Kotelnik simply did better, controlled the distance, pushed forward, landed the more, the harder and cleaner punches and blocked almost everything. This is boxing for Chrissakes! Was it close overall? Yes! But do we score overall? No, we score on a round by round basis, and many, many, many fans rightfully found Kotelnik to be just a bit or clearly better in the majority of rounds.

Based on the scoring system we currently have, a close fight can be a shutout if one fighter simply does a bit better in every single round.

As an Alexander fan, I had Kotelnik doing better in 9 rounds, and believe me, I waited for Devon to take over distance, set the pace, find the gaps, break through the defense, go around the guard, start landing consequitve clean punches in his flurries but he never got there. 200 punches landed by Devon? Lol, that's a fat lie from Compubox, half of that maybe, trust your eyes not a freaking stat! Therefore, once again, on a round by round basis, many, many, many fans had it from 116-112 to even 118-110 for Kotelnik because they scored every round to the better man in that round based on clean effective punching, then counted the scores and these are the numbers they came up.

This is sweet science not volume for victory, and on a round by round basis, Kotelnik CLEARLY did more. Fair or not knowing that the fight was close overall, but this is how we score a professional fight, and if you found more than 5 or even 5 rounds in which Alexander outlanded Kotelnik or produced better quality of punches or controlled the fight and landed cleaner, you are, with all due respect, BLIND.

 

These are the first sane posts I have seen about the issue.

 

Those Compubox numbers are way off. They were calling punches for Alexander that just weren't landing. No way did he land 202 punches through 12 rounds.

 

Again someone asked you why you scored it for Alexander but use compubox as your basis.

i didn't keep a score card but all i know is that boy devon got his ass whooped.
