want to get the general opinion of you guys on what would have happened had these two have met.

although i respect rocky's achievement in retiring undefeated, i think alot of people look past the fact that he won the title at the end of 1952 against jersey joe walcott, and retired having only defended it 5 times, with the biggest challenge being a worn out Ezzard Charles (who had lost 5 times before facing marciano, and was well out of his prime)...and the others being Roland Lastarza, Don Cockell, and Archie (ANCIENT) Moore

although numerous question marks can be raised on a peak tyson, such as his fighting heart (perhaps), i myself can only see one result....a brutal knockout for iron mike....

    please....contribute....:p

And...how many times by comparison did Mike defend the LINEAL title? And How prime was Holmes, for instance? You can play detractor on Tyson's resume of wins with no problem too. I pick Tyson anyway. Marciano would have trouble getting off early because of Tyson's combination speed but if Marciano can go past four or five, the fight could get interesting, might even go the distance or swing in Marciano's favor. Writing Marciano off is easy because prime Marciano was awkward-looking as hell and prime Tyson is athletic poetry in motion. But they were both awesomely effective. I favor Tyson but don't write off Marciano.

Both around the same height but Tyson has a 4 inch reach advantage and outweighs Rocky by at least 30lbs.

If Marciano can survive the early storm he has a chance, but I definitely see him being on the canvas if Tyson connects cleanly. He had a huge heart though and keeping him there won't be easy.

If Rocky fights dirty then he might even make Tyson flip out and get DQd -- it depends on the ref.

I'd kill to know how Marciano would respond to having a piece of his ****ing ear bitten off.

He wouldn't have to, it was the fifties the crowd would tear Tyson to pieces-literally.

well you tell me mate, what sounds better to you :

Marciano.... 2 1/2 years reign, five title defences including Roland Lastarza (their second fight, fought the same guy YEARS before), don cockell, a jaded ezzard charles, and an ANCIENT archie moore who came up from light heavy!

Tyson.... 4 years reign including wins against pinkon thomas, bonecrusher smith, tony tucker, tyrell biggs, larry holmes, michael spinks, frank bruno, carl williams, tony tubbs

now on both sides the quality of opposition can be questioned to an extent, but tyson didnt just beat his opponents, he totally dominated them (the only fighter above that challenged tyson to an extent was tucker, but he still lost quite clearly)....

with marciano people often forget the struggle he had with archie moore, before eventually stopping the much older man in 9 rounds, and also how roland lastarza (their 1st fight) could have taken the decision on points, and how jersey joe walcott (despite being past his own peak) totally outboxed marciano before getting caught in the 13th.....

    tyson by brutalisation:happy

if your trying to say that the crowd would rip tyson to pieces 'literally' as you put it, your ****ing deluded.....yes i have seen the sadler and pep fights...

but maybe u need to refer back to one fight in particular....Jack Johnson vs Jim Jeffries....where the pre fight tension and racial friction was unprecedented, and the crowd could not have been more pro jeffries....

but..johnson whupped that ass REAL bad, and even mocked the crowd.....

so mate, you cant go round predicting what the crowd would have done. im pretty sure that a tyson in the 50's would have been pretty popular aswell to an extent with his vicious style.
