I'm not so sure, Unforgiven. I think Darcy fought in a much tougher era of middleweights than Ketchel, even though he didn't face many of them due to his premature death. He did manage to beat several title claimants though. He twice beat Jimmy Clabby, who was a slick and excellent boxer. He twice knocked out Eddie McGoorty, who packed a hefty wallop and had never been stopped previously despite fighting the best of the best. In fact many thought McGoorty was going to be the post-Ketchel champ as soon as all the smoke cleared. Darcy beat former champ George Chip, who was a tough hombre and packed a nasty punch. He beat Jeff Smith, probably the most clever middleweight of the era next to Mike Gibbons(I wrote an article on him that appeared last year in Boxing Digest). He beat rugged contenders like Gus Christie and Buck Crouse. Does Ketchel's resume compare? I don't know, but Papke, O'Brien, Thomas and Twin Sullivan are nothing to sneeze at. I just am not sure how they stack up against Darcy's comp. Just tossing it out there...

No im an alias, Duran is the most overrated fighter ever. What i mean by what i said was that, many people have lists that are clearly biassed towards old timers, some people have lists clearly biassed to new fighters. Some people have lists based on reading shirt and trying to be a smart ass, some people have lists based on solely watching footage. Many people delibratley underrate popular mainstream fighters. Theres no right or wrong list and at a glance your list looks impartial and balanced. The most visibilly talented fighters are all rightfully in there, those who are usually excluded on this forum. Both weight dominators and weight jumping kings are in there, again showing impartialness
why are you so defensive, lora the explorer? Can you smell your own? I did not say i agree with his list, it looks nothing like mine. I'm extremely biassed myself. All im saying is it looks impartial. It doesnt look like hes copied and pasted the lists of his favourite type of posters
Your list omitting Harry Greb, from the top, let alone altogether is like listing the greatest presidents, and leaving out Abraham Lincoln...No one on your list of fifteen accomplished such an amazing record, against HOFame fighters, weighing 12-50 pounds more than him in a 299 bout career...But you somehow know the merits of Harry Greb, that somehow eluded the hundreds of boxing experts and historians, who saw Harry Greb in the flesh....Amazing....
Maybe he should bash you for not having,Harry Greb, Benny Leonard , Eder Jofre, or Jimmy Wilde on it?
