Might get ragged but I always thought Alfonso Gomez was technically as good as they come. He's not elite because he doesn't have the strength, speed and power of the elite guys in his division but he throws textbook combinations, hand placement, and defense.
Technically sound fighters are out there now but get over shadowed by the unorthodox fighters with certain special attributes. Nobody is technically perfect. They might reach that at one time but it takes something extra individually to make a fighter great. Things like great reflexes, power, speed, and instincts are what make the fighters who they are. I think thier are plenty of stiff, all most technically perfect euro fighters out there, but it takes style and the other attributes to be the man and that's on the individual.
Styles is a personal preference! He is boring to watch. That clam shell defense is never my cup of tea. It only becomes exciting if the opponent brings excitement or engages. Most euro fighters especially coming from the eastern bloc are very very technical or textbook, even the foot placement when throwing a punch, as well the the punch dynamics like tucking the chin when throwing a straight. Textbook! But it does not translate to a fan-friuendly fight, no creativity, no flair, no surprises - like wright fight actually.
