If they rematch silva better have a much better gameplan/vastly better takedown defense or sonnen will win.

Interesting because I never thought sonnen had a chance against silva.

Shocking that Silva wasn't more marked up. Even from scuffing shots. Slaps. Hammer blows. The guy's face should be at least very bruised up.

 

i was surprised how strong is ****ing head is. he can take a hit! and weird how he didnt bruise.. he must have very thick skin or something

 

That elbow in the 4th round while standing that Silva landed was pretty bad ass.. So was the one off his back that opened up Sonnen.

 

Black people are very good at hiding bruises. Just like Sonnen could hide powdered sugar

 

Everyone made it sound like Silva took such a pounding but he barely has a mark.

Im beginning to think its just the Silva haters that exxagerated this fight.

Well it's no lie that Silva was dominated positionally for much of the fight, and Sonnen landed some blows that looked heavy. So it's either Silva has an absolutely cast iron, carved out of granite chin........or Sonnen is just feather fisted. Well it's probably both actually.

A mark on a fighters face dosn't mean you win or get beat. Silva was taken down and Dominated on the ground most of the time. He was able to roll with some shots..block and kept moving on the bottom. Sonnen was just grinding from the top. A very good fight.

penns face like andersons does not mark up easily. Those pics were not intended to say anderson silva was not geting beaten before the come from behind submission win, but just to suggest he may have not taken as much actual damage as it appeared in that fight. certainly silva took quite a bit of damage, as did chael sonenn.

 

Sonnen was winning most of the stand-up also.

 

He got hit a lot and hit hard, he just didn't mark up. Gatti would bleed if you looked at him, some guys are just strange with bruises/cuts.
