I cant figure it out , this is his chance to get back to the ww division ,where he belongs , a title fight , wbc champ , i have heard some rumors he wants to defend against Sergei Dzinziruk , who is taller longer and not the best match up for him imo , so i guess he wants to defend to get a crack at pac after marg? i dont know , but i would love some input from you guys on why hes doin this and what direction you guys think hes going ?:good

Cotto has been fighting at a high level most of his career, he's beat a lot of undefeated guys, fought the top guys at Welter, just beat another undefeated fighter at 154.

He might just be content to NOT have another war just yet.

Because Berto isn't a Top Rank fighter.

This would be a great fight with two guys with shaky chins. Someone in that fight is getting knocked out.

Had the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight been made, he would be fighting Margo this fall. Beenie is right, Berto is not a Top Rank fighter so he doesn't get serious cosideration.

While yes, Cotto has been hurt before hes never been clean knocked out. So to say his chin is shakey is kind of unwarrented. But is it undentable no.

Who has Berto beat clearly that you would consider better than Cotto?

I don't understand. What does this have to do with anything? I don't see what your point is here. Cotto is fighting is fighting Chavez Jr. next for crying out loud.

Your post is shaky. Fight Berto for what? His body is getting acclamated to 154 and that is where he will end his career. I like Berto, but he is a contender holding a belt. If he would have fought and beat just say Mosley, then fight Cotto would be senseable. I did say if.

Are you serious? Cotto is probably fighting Chavez Jr. next. Who has Chavez ever beat? His best win is against John Duddy. I have no idea why people are trying to make this more complicated than it is. Arum will match his guys in house as often as he can. Arum has pretty much said as much himself. If Berto was a Top Rank fighter, that fight would get made.

Arum has told Cotto to fight Chavez, Jr next. Cotto has paid his dues and what the other poster is stating. The best fight Berto has had was with Collazo and that fight could have gone the other way in my eyes.
