Alexander's victory was rated like a loss by The Ring.

    Rightly so.
IMO it's a good thing. Maybe they'll start fighting now to get the ring title sooner.

I just checked their website and chief editor Nigel Collins says it's very much up in the air still wether Bradley-Alexander will be for the Ring title now or not. He said he'll e-mail all of the Ring-ratings panel members to ask for their opinion, so it may well still be for the title.
Now, the question is, what do we as fans think? Should it be for the title? I say yes, the winner of Bradley-Alexander will have done enough to legitimately claim the #1 spot in the division. And if Amir Khan doesn't like it, well then i guess he'll just have to fight the winner, doesn't he?

I think they can still fight for the belt, it happend in the past no 1 nd no 3 can fight for the belt if Khan doesnt want to fight next Bradly.

The weekend disgrace has no bearing whether to give the title to the two US fighters (1 vs 3 can fight for it too) or not to because of the Golden Boy influence with Khan. Said but true, it's all about politics and not about reality.

If anyone has a sense of proper judgement can agree that Bradley and Khan are the clear top guys and the rest, Kotelnik, Alexander, Maidana and Hatton are 2nd tiers at the moment.

Seems to me the obvious thing for Devon to do would be to give Kotelnik an immediate rematch... unless he knows he lost and truely doesnt want to be in there with his style again... Alexander's young, get back in (Andriy deserves another shot) put on a show and everyone will soon forget he struggled first time. If he can't convincingly beat Kotelnik he is def going to struggle in the future, no disrespect to Andriy but there are going to be much better fighters in the future.

That doesn't surprise me. I beilieve the RING does make the occasional exception for a #1 vs #3 fight.

In this case I would vote against it being for the ring title. On top of Alexander's questionable win, there is just too much talent at 140 to crown one guy as the best in the division at this point.

Sadly, if these fighters at 140 don't sack up and start facing each other, we may never know who is truly the best at that weight.

I think that Ring mag being owned by GBP is gonna create alot of problems like this. If there isn't a Ring champion now then why wouldn't a 1 vs 3 fight create one. Any matchup involving a guy ranked in the top 3 and holding a WBC, WBA, or IBF belt should be for that title. The way that fighters are ducking each other or not fighting outside their promotional companies make it hare to wait for a 1 vs 2 with all the belts on the line. It seems like nobody is in a hurry to unify anything.

Well since Kotelnik beat DA, DA isn't even #3, so can't be for the Ring title.

A rematch with Kotelnik would seem to be a good option for Devon. However, there is a lot of pressure from HBO to make the fight with Bradley. I doubt they would put up the money for a rematch with Kotelnik.

Well if Bradley number #1 then it should be automatic that the Ring back be on the line. Also, if Alexander is number #3 he has 2 belts and who ever wins is the linear champ as well. Also, that person will be a 3 belt champ, unified.
