Pan-Americanism is not as pronounced as pan-europeanism. There isnt 3,000 years of shared history as there is in Europe.

During the world cup I saw European posters and South American posters arguing all of the time which continent was sending the most countries to the knockout rounds and beyond.

As for me mentioning the Calzaghe v Hop fight. I scored it for Hopkins, even though Calzaghe landed very little cleanly and Hopkins landed the most telling blows in the fight.

Its really the same as the Kotelnik vs Alexander fight. Alexanders aggression would at times limit Kotelniks output even if he wasnt landing cleanly, much like Calzaghes aginst Hopkins. Which makes it effective aggression does it not?

And at times united or under control by several emperors and dictators.

You telling me that Europeans on this website dont resort to the Euro argument when discussing who produces the better fighters?

I just said I scored it for Calzaghe. And I scored the ther fight a draw. With Kotelnik being the most deserving winner if there was one. I just dont agree that it was as clear cut as Big bone says it was.

More nonsense. Not one thing you brought up made any sense. You started that international judges didn't work out very well in the case of Froch-Dirrell (which was a split decision BTW). So I ask again: would 3 local judges from Nottingham have helped Dirrell's case any better?

Problem is you are mistaking oppurtunism for realism, Some euro posters and some american posters argue their country produces better fighters because they have that opinion and then others use the oppurtunity to join the debate , if they truly beleive it or not is another matter. Many just like to argue or wind others up. TRUE boxing fans will like a fighter regardless of what country they from and be willing to admit the flaws of any and all boxers including those from their home towns.

its often not that easy for the judges when the crowd badly hails every single jab thrown by the hometown fighter that barely connected like an epic knockout punch. Its not that i think every hometown decision is based on corruption.
in Japan for example where the crowd is usually quiet i cant remember any robbery in the recent years.

I´d say that Germany has already improved over the recent years in fact.
A lot of former undefeated prospects lost decisions there lately
Also guys like Braehmer, Valuev or Tajbert. I believe its slightly becoming a myth thats its impossible to get a decision there. only one robbery in the past two years comes to my mind in a trice..

For somebody to say that a euro country has greater rivialry with the states than other euro countries is amazing and completely untrue!!

The main reason that some euro posters band together is the torrent of abuse europe as a whole gets on these sites from americans LOL, if you cant see that you really must be blind!! Its not because the likes of the germans are supporting the likes of Crotch :rofl

Ah, I see, all those barges in the channel ports were just for scare factor. As a history major you do of course have plenty of primary sources that support your contention. Don't you?

The main problem is that when for example a brit loses a big fight (or a fighter from any euro country), reams and reams of posts appear about all euro fighters being over rated!! A fighter from one country loses and a hole continent gets stick plus when americans get it back they just cant take it, if you dish it out you gota expect it back, everyone know this so dont cry do much about it imo

The thing about kotelnik, when khan beat him he was just a euro bum, but now that he gave devon a boxing lesson hes suddenly labelled a good fighter!! Amazing really

There is a lot of politics as well, do you really think that a rising potential HBO star is going to drop a decision at home to a vetern guy who is seen more as a gatekeeper and who may well have lost all all rounds in his last fight?? Even though the "gatekeeper" clearly won the fight he was never getting the nod and a lot of americans complain about germany, you need only look closer to home to top that!!
