Thanks mate, your a gent. Peters needs to act now and sign this kid, or at least get Byrne a couple of contests on his RTE promotions.

Surely Byrnes best option would be to sign with Peters instead of going back to the states? There are plenty of fights for him here against UK opponents. Wright is Eng champ again, Morrison is a decent yardstick, even Tyrone Nurse who I dont rate (and its nothing to do with his shorts) would move Dean up the pecking order

Maloney really has ****ed his career around, and it was going slow enough before he got involved. I can't remember the exact particulars around that eliminator with Billy Dib that didn't go ahead, but I think Dib pulled out, giving the reason that he already had a fight scheduled and that he couldn't commit to an eliminator until after that bout. After that Maloney pulled Lindsay out aswell and I can't remember why(possibly due to having to wait around for ages without fighting before getting that eliminator ?)

Well Dib fought for an IBF Pan Pacific bauble so they didn't punish him for his indiscretion. Lindsay on the otherhand was dropped 7 places to 12th in the rankings. His rankings are regressing under Maloney and so is his quality of opposition. Frank did want to put him in with Bhatia after the Arthur fight and while at the time that looked a terribly pointless and crap fight, it still would have been better than what we got.

I'd rather Martin was thrown in deep at this stage and if he loses, he loses, he'll have time to comeback anyway. With the way Maloney is progressing him he may only get one chance and that might come too late.

Not sure if you guys saw but Brian Magee is ranked 10th by the ring hes been there for the last few months i ment to make a post about it but forgot!

but the real reason I'm posting is because Paul McCloskey has made his debut in their rankings at number 10

    http://www.ringtv.com/ratings/jr_welterweight/

A far cry from his most protected tag he had a few years ago!

Hi Paddy thats great news and about time too. I was suggesting earlier in the year that Kotelink would be interesting for McCloskey but it looks like Koteling may be used as a yard stick by the alleged top 4 of the division! Is McColskey making the weight easily? Reason I ask us he will find it very hard to get a crack at the big boy's by the looks of things! So he may need to see if 1 of the other divisions is an option. I assume going down to lightweight would be almost impossible for him though but when you look at his mid section it does sometimes appear as though he could shed an extra couple of pounds!

Good stuff. What will Paul's next move be now that he has missed out on a title eliminator with Olusegun?
