    Who?

Well my definition of GOOD is a solid professional. When it comes to World class, that falls into the category of exceptional.

    Okay, fair enough.

Reckon John Murray would annihilate Salita though.

So by your ranking system, what category do you have Floyd and Pac in?

Exceptional? Because that's what they are. They're world class P4P greats.

Did you actually have the need to ask me that? :huh

What did you think I was going to say?

I would reckon you might want a couple of dividing lines between a paper belt holder in a weak division and two all-time greats in Mayweather and Pacquiao.

I mean, to say Pac and Mayweather are exceptional is fair enough (because they are), but it might look a bit off if you are also saying that Luiz Lazarte is also exceptional. Lazarte does hold a world title at Light-flyweight, but is he an "exceptional" boxer?

These definitions are silly. The general idea is Salita really is a **** poor fighter in this company. If he's going to win a world title Colin Lynes probably fancies his chances because they're about as good as each other. He's really not anything to boast about and its laughable to suggest anybody is ducking him. People would be queuing up to fight him if he remains popular.

To be honest, I knew someone was going to divide the two. I just couldn't think of a better word than Exceptional .

Pacquiao and Mayweather are just the Elite of the Elite. That's a bit better ;)

In what way are they silly?

Just because a fighter wins a world title doesn't mean they fall into the category of exceptional. Money talks in this game and a lot of it is corrupt, reason being why we have paper champs. Salita would still be the average solid professional. He just doesn't have world class skills.

Because they're pointless. 'Good', 'Exceptional'...what do they mean? They're ambiguous terms that mean something to one person and something entirely different to the next hence the confusion. They're okay as descriptive words but you can't actually attempt to categorize people by them, surely. Same goes for 'elite' really though I've been guilty of using it myself.
