i think Paddy was refereing to the following-fights i wanted to see and put in the program for the last show--look at the last one!!!!!:p

    Matthew Macklin versus Andy Lee:
Matthew Macklin and Darren Barker are evoking more hype than JEWARD at present, but just like the electrically charged Lucan pair their European fight will eventually flatter to deceive. Macklin won’t be ‘under pressure’ and will win easy in a fight with less tension than a slack rope. A worthy opponent for the Birmingham born Irish man, however would be Lee and that all Ireland clash would certainly be worth waxing lyrical about!!

    Michael Sweeney versus Ian Tims
With more bitching between the pair than seen in the Big Brother house Sweeney Tims is an exciting prospect. Granted its more mini than mega fight, but the significance in the Irish pair trading leather is that it would prove fan power. Fans could demand rather than be forced fed fights if the bout that was first suggested on Paddy Cronan’s Facebook came off!

    Bernard Dunne versus Kiko Martinez
I am fully aware its unlikely and fully aware there is an abundance of young Irish boxing talent emerging, but I just have Bernard Dunne withdrawals. I am craving the hair on the back of the neck moments a rapturous point theatre at full voice provided. The only man who I think Dunne could come out of retirement for is the fighter who turned the most vocal and partisan support in Irish sport into a silent mob within 86 seconds!

He does come to the ring a bit fleshy alright... But Breen is known for having his lads in top shape and McCloskey seems to have no stamina problems so thats a bit strange? Think hes been around 138 mark once before so 135 might not be out of the question. Hes 31 now though. So he would need to be sure that 135 wont weaken him & also he would need to have a big fight lined up before jumping ship and possibly standing on Andy Murray's toes. Peters is still involved with McCloskey in some capacity isnt he?

It's the perfect step up at the perfect time for me, Voronin is getting on in age now and was never the most skilled fighter but he's tough, carries a big punch and normally very game and in excellent shape.

He's ranked 9th in Europe at Featherweight aswell but unfortunately Carlos, just like Joe Murray you won't be entering the European rankings should you win as you've less than 10 fights. That's probably the reason Willie Casey didn't enter the European rankings after his prizefighter win aswell.

Good news about McCloskey and Magee aswell, hopefully that gains them some attention internationally.

Good man Carlos. That guy nearly stopped Dunne and fighting him in your seven professional fight is impressive. He has only been stopped twice in forty fights so a KO would say a lot.

p.p.s. massive day for boxing-ireland.com yesterday - broke the 900 page views in a single day mark. Thats a couple 100 more than any other day.

    1,000 mark here we come.

That's the first thing that came into my head when I heard the opponent.

Don't want to put any pressure on Carl but the Maximum Banjo should be delivered half way through the 6th round at the latest(preferably earlier).

Cracking stuff and all before the site is launched properly, hopefully 1,000 views will be broken soon.
