Need a forun for the fans from way back who were actually there and not just youtube

    There should be a classic forum for those of us that reaLly saw the fights live and lived thru them from 1950 or earlier until about 1990's. these you-tubers are killing me with their bull**** Know-nothing opinions. There is one that states that Duran fought noone good at kightweight. Moronic. Buchanon was considered the best boxer in the sport in a 70-71 poll in Ring or one of the other mags. DeJesus was a great fighter. Brooks was very good. Arcel himself said Thompson was a terrific boxer, Kybayashi had just lost the jr-light title. Marcel would beat Arguello and on and on. Then the same guy say's Duran ducked Arguello. Crap. I have the "Sports Illustred" from the Fernandez fight where his manager says that Alex is not yet ready for Duran. Duran waited a year after DeJesus and still Arguello was not ready. Then there are thosethat alwasys key the second Leonard fight. Leonard himself has said that he gave Duran enough time to get out of shape and not enough time to get back in shape. That's real brave eh? Palomino said that when Duran took off his robe before the second fight, he could see Duran was not in anywhere near the shape of the first fight w/ Leo. or the fight with him and knew Duran would have trouble. These you tubers and boxrec kids with there youtube stopaction bits of fights should have their own forunm and those that lived through the years should have theirs.They talk about all the guys from those years with incorrect facts and no real knowledge of the era. Because a lot of the **** said on this forum is a joke to put it mildly, with people not even born or old enough to remember or have lived thru it all as a fan talking out their asses as experts when they are not. Give them their forum and give the older ones, who remember the classics theirs. It also always gets me that these so-called fans don't even watch most of the live fights today. They wait for youtube. Could Tua, who did nothing really in his career worthwhile, tear apart Marciano. Anyone who saw Marciano live must think this is ridiculous because it is. And the list goes on and on with crap like this. There must be others besides me who feel this way. Let's hear from you please!

    you do and so do I and others. I though that was what Classic was for, but it has gotten ridiculous and those of us who were there and saw and went to the fights in these years, for me 70's and 80's , are made to look like knownothings by these clowns. It is sad and drives many truly knowledgeable posters w/ firsthand knowledge and great stories of fights and camps and gyms they were in, out of the discussion. I will leave soon too because it just gets assinine. All I ask for is a split classic forum.

    My deepest apologies to those lucky enough to have been spawned during the second world war. I am not alone in being unfortunate enough to have missed the greats of the past, and many others my age would give their kneecaps to witness Ray Robinson and Kid Gavilan, but on their behalf and my own, I make no attempt to excuse the lack of faded memories and school boy fantasies that we only wish we possessed. I can only promise you, Morlocks & co., that in the future, my contemporaries and I will shun Youtube and other extremely ****ing useful and objective sources so you can maintain a sense of never-to-be rivalled superiority and authenticity.

    How can you put everyone in the same boat here, it's a completely ridiculous statement.

    Although I agree there's a lot of bull**** on here, watching youtube is only natural to the younger generation just as reading old fight reports was to you when you were younger about fights way before your time.

    You can't hold it against someone for not being old enough to have experienced some of the greats, if that was so then no one here has the right to give an opinion on any of the old timers unless you've actually seen them....which would be ridiculous as there's no one that's seen Johnson/Jeffries/Greb etc etc etc in all their glory.

    You'll find ignorance running rampant by posters of all ages on the internet. Just weed out the good and bad, find who to take seriously and you're set. Age has little to do with it. Look at GPater.

    and insults...I. as an oldtimer can hardly believe,the lack of boxing history
