Fantastic news. Shows the ambition and confidence in Frampton and McGuigan. Won't be an easy fight for Carlos, the lad has a lot of experience. Excellent opponent for him right now. The Frampton Freight Train of Destruction is gaining momentum! :happy

Its a good move because he'll have to work on not getting hit as often as he tries to engage. Voronin might not be at his peak but he can still give a fair thump. So taking unnessecary shots isn't on the agenda for Carlos taking this step up.

That said, its a great fight, and will probably bring the best out in him. An impressive win here will garner a lot of praise and attention and make the fast track even faster

 

Comparisons to Dunne's performance will be inevitable too!

 

Yeah probably. Dunne comfortably outboxed Voronin for 9 rounds before showboating and almost got banjoed in the last.

I'd take a less polished boxing performance without the danger!

I predict Carlos getting in, quick flurries of hooks and crosses at close range, then getting back out. Also try and control the older man with the jab and if he does start trying to press then just use the speed to make him pay.

If I remember correctly Voronin was open to the counter left/overhand left against both Dunne and Cook
