Frampton video interview on Voronin http://boxing-ireland.com/20100910_frampton_jackal_voronin_71.html
That's an excellent step up for Carl and a very good opponent for his top of the bill appearance. :good It should be a crackin show with the likes of Conlan and Ryan Greene as well as Stevie Haughian on the card. It will sell very fast too.
There is a good vibe going about Frampton, I just hope he ain't like Roy Keane, I guess you know my feelings there...:yep
Have you even seen Tims, Fitzgerald or Spike box? They are young pro's and hardly ready to step up to much competition. As for Lee, he faced a good level of competition until his loss. Yep, he had some filler but he hadn't a promoter and had to take fights anywhere he could get them. Duddy got close to a Pavlik fight before losing, how much further do you want him to step it up?! Andy Murray has had several 12 rounders and won the EU belt, not bad for 'not stepping it up'. He wants bigger fights but they are hard to pull off. What about Kevin Mitchell, John Murray? How long did they take to step up? How long did it take Matthew Hatton? What about Michael Jennings? Also, your true love Darren Barker? 22-0 and finally he's in a fight where he's not a clear favourite. I could name any number of boxers but in truth there's is nothing wrong with these boxers' records, everybody develops at a different rate for many reasons. Also, you conveniently forgot Paul McCloskey who stepped up very early, Martin Rogan who won the commonwealth in his 13th fight or Martin Lindsay who knocked out Derry Mathews in an eliminator in his 13th fight. You can pick holes in anyone's record (Louis', Ali's, Tyson's..) and give examples to 'prove' almost any point but your recent agenda seems to be to put down Irish fighters any time you can. Sad and pathetic.
tis aye. Opposite end of the country though - Sligo. Since I've been doing these interviews I've had my voice compared to Keano and Stan - its like ye are workin yer away through the USA 94 squad! Talking of Keano - Michael Kelly that is facing Gavin for the Irish title is a sometime professional Keano look-a-like - seriously! I'll get a pic.
Do you know how few pro's there are in Ireland?! The national belt is for the best in a country..you can only fight who is there.
