I've been following his career for quite some time and I'm having a hard time rating his punch resistance. The guy was visibly hurt against feather fisted Brian Norman and Omar Pittman, yet was able to withstand Froch's power for 12 rounds. What do you think?
he wasn't looking too hot in those fights. Like he was zoned out. He does that actually he just kind of looks out of it sometimes. I've followed since his pro debut and sometimes you're just like WAKE UP BRO
He seems to have a good chin, but he can get hurt by a punch he doesn't see coming. Froch's punches are so looping that he didn't have a problem with those.
A solid 8 for me personally. I think when he was hurt early in his career you can chalk it up to inexperience and running into stupid shots. It seems like he's grown into having a pretty solid chin as evidenced by 12 rounds with Froch and 24 rounds with Diaconu, and Ikeke and Branco are solid punchers too. It think relieving his weight struggles by moving up to light heavyweight further strengthened his chin. He has one of the best chins in the business.
Those journeymen that hurt Pascal don't mean it proved his chin is shaky. It means Pascal chin is better at 175 pounds in which he feels more conferable. Pascal last 3 fights face 2 very good punchers and never was close of being stop or knockdown.
He only had 3 fights at 175. Diaconu twice and he's too slow and too predictable to threaten Pascal and Branco who was a joke. I'm not that sure his chin is necessarily better at 175.
Pascal has a good chin. He took some bombs from Froch and he took them well, and in the first fight against Diaconu he took some shots and for the most part he took them well.
Yea, he was a little shaken twice by Diaconu in their first fight, because he got too lax and was ****ing around in there. To me, it doesn't matter because this dude is a ****ing warrior, bottom line. When he gets hit, he fires ****ing back, he can easily get dragged into a brawl because he has that warrior mentality. If he gets dropped in the future, won't matter, this guy is getting up and gun slinging. One of my top 3 favorite fighters currently fighting. No way Dawson sparks him, he won't have a chance to get complacent and lazy in there, he is going to have to fight every second to get that win. I would be more scared of him getting dropped by a guy he is severly outclassing than someone like Dawson.
