    Ingo hit harder than Marciano.

    Marciano's Suzy Q > Ingo's hammer of thor

Let me ask you...what Ring Magazine top 10 contender did Ingo ever knockout with ONE PUNCH only?

I disagree with that. ingo never ko'd anyone with a great chin. Marciano did.

I'm sure many people here would also disagree with that. the fact is, if Patterson tastes any of rocky's bombs, he's in trouble.

Eddie Machens gotta be up there.

Definitely. Marciano was a tank :good
With some weight lifting and (I don't like to use the word modern but yeah) nutrition changes I can see him weighing an easy 200, maybe 205 without any noticable loss in stamina.

I'm starting to get the opinion that I've been under rating Langford for a long time as well. He's just replaced Max Baer for the last spot on my top 15, how do you see Marciano-Langford playing out?

That was the first fighter that came in mind as well; especially since it was Machens first KO loss.

Yeah, but he doesn't compare to Ezzard Charles or Rex Layne in terms of chin. I definetely think Rocky bangs harder then Ingo.
Ingo is faster though, and much more elusive.

Gotta disagree with you there.....Machen was very durable but more than that he was very crafty and hard to catch.

Whats the point in making this topic, if nobody is going to accept the fact.

Thats Rocky Marciano was easy to hit, had slow movement, and slow handspeed. Fair enough he had workrate and heart going for him, but really....

    James Toney
    David Haye
    Roy Jones
    Evander Holyfield

    All beat Rocky Marciano.

I love these fanatic like claims .. the difference between the two is that Langford fought huge, very good men while Marciano didn't fight any ... is the 218 pound Louis your measuring ground for Rocky's huge exhibits of strength ? You offer completely unverified, highly opinionated points and try to pass them off as proven facts ... it's amusing but that's about it ...

What a statement Bummy ... when it comes to Marciano you really cross into the fanatic camp .. nothing Fitz or Langford could to him ? ... Both were murderous punchers, far more proven than Rocky against much better competition so at the very least even Rocky lovers have to give them a punchers chance against such a fairly hittable opponent ..

James likes to take long breaks and fight a good 20 or 30 seconds a round. Marciano would not oblige this mentality.

It worked though. it wasnt prety, it just did the job. he cleaned out a division. Either marciano is just an exception to the rule or hes the luckyest fighter there ever was.

Did they clean out a division as clean as marciano did? did they win as many key fights by knockout? did they knock out as many linear undisputed champions? among these only evander won against the odds yet they all slipped up in their primes. jones was still considered the best on the planet when he was Ko'd.
