Baer had a ****ing good chin that's for sure. Louis caught him many times with those short, snappy right hands. Ouch

How is this stupid? Louis beat several guys with similar styles and physical attributes to Wlad.

He annhiliated perhaps the closest fighter in history to mimic Wlad, in Primo Carnera.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ovh8VkTxYI[/ame]

As you can see, Wlad looks like an exact duplicate in the way he moves, his stance, his speed, and his style.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHQQRwJRnrk[/ame]

Except Wlad is fighting a southpaw bum, and Carnera is fighting probably the best heavyweight fighter of all time.

Louis is a stylistic nighmare for Wlad. He would duck under Wlad's jabs, and had the speed to counter and respond.

Wlad throws no uppercuts, and his inside game consists mostly of holding. Louis had incredibly fast combinations, and had every punch in the book. Every time he got inside, Wlad would pay, and Wlad doesn't have the chin to withstand that kind of punishment.

He was amazing in his day and I'm a big fan of his but Haye would beat the **** out of him if he stood in front of him just looking to land a big shot and either Klit brothers would batter him, both way too big for him and way too powerful.

Louis is one of the best of his era but this era is very different, regardless of how poor the division is.

    You're crazy.

Mayweather stands right in front of his opponents at welterweight, only moving when he has to, yet he completely dominates his opponents.

Louis has a fighting style that resembles smaller skilled men, and would utilize the same strategy against the heavies of this era.

James Toney stands right in front of people too, but he's also a non puncher, and a small man in a fat body, yet is still a very good and avoided fighter.

It's called SKILL. That's what boxing is.

You say this era is different, but what's different about it?

The fact that most dominant heavy only has a few punches aresenal, or the fact that most of the guys are fat, overweight, and box to save their life?

Middleweights today would beat Joe Louis. Athletes like in all sports are superior today......I don't understand why people think boxing is any different??

Vladimir Klitchko could probably KO Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, and Primo Carnera at the same time. If the 3 of them were in the ring against V. Klit or a Lennox Lewis; I would pick Klit or Lewis via 3 ko's in the 1st round!
