ahh yeah if you watched ali frazier 1 and saw ali knocked down in the 15th (forget about the 9th) and back up within seconds you'd probably revisit that statement. i hope you were jking

anyway, my opinion:, ali by UD, maybe even a tko. i think wlad is big and strong but ali would be a bit too fast and probably tap that chin a bit, and wlad would feel it

Vitali's reputation comes from beating B+ - level fighters while looking absolutely untouchable.

Wlad vs Ali? What's the point of comparing? Comparing two fighters from entirely different eras (>35 years apart!) on H2H terms is pointless as athletes (and I mean athletes; Arreola does not qualify) in 2010 are vastly superior to those of 1967 which is a proven fact. If Usain Bolt was born in 1944 he would have not been able to run 9.58 in '67 because medical knowledge, training methods and nutrition were far behind.
It's highly unlikely that a 220lbs 6"3' fighter of the late 60's dances circles around Wlad because nobody dances circles around the 2010-Stewart-version of Wladimir Klitschko. I'm tempted to say that any other opinion is pure nostalgia.

Ali will always be considered the greater of the two and rightly so. Greatness should never be measured in H2H phantasy encounters but on what the fighter has contributed to the division in his day and age and Ali is hard to push from the top on that aspect.

6"6' und 212lbs? How does he compare to a Klitschko?

Ali wins it but people generally under rate Wlad... I think he is a top 15 all time HW by now.

I don't see Ali stopping him because Ali never really stopped boxers who didn't drag him into a brawl (which Wlad would certainly not do). I'd make him the favorite to win on points, but it's a match Wlad could win.

Has anyone every seen Wlad outboxed? especially by a speed guy? Wlads style is made to look good against guys who fight from the outside and dont pressure him.

Ali speed wiill not be an issue for wlad. Wlad has very fast hands, people underestimate that. Listen to interviews from people who fought him. Not only does wlad hit hard he has deceptive speed, ask Chris byrd or Eddie Chambers.

Ali is not a pressure fighter, this is a good style match up for wlad. Foreman, Frazier, Tyson have the stles to beat wlad. Guys who box from the outside and move are going to lose to wlad.

Post after Post about how ALi out boxes wlad...again who has ever outboxed wlad?

Wlad's greatness is in his ability to beat pure boxers. Only one style beats wlad. Pressure, other than that expect him to beat anyone.

How in the world does Eddie Chambers or Chris Byrd compare to Ali. Not only is Ali by in away the fastest fighter Wlad fight (Let alone at HW), he has the foot-speed, activity/work-rate, and uncanny reflexes to out-box Wlad. Even though I agree it's a tough style matchup for Ali... he's just in another class in terms of ability and athleticism.

While Wlad's speed might be deceptive, Ali has fought much faster men and made them look foolish at times.

The K brothers know how to manage distance well, but Ali is so quick and apt that he would make them look ponderous. How is Wlad going to get out of the way of Ali's shots? Lean back... his defense is going to look bad against Ali.

Nobody came close to out-boxing Ali in his prime/peak... let alone beating him. You can't say that about Wlad.

take into consideration that anyone who had a good jab gave ali atleast some problems. wlads jab? pretty sharp. ali's movement would obviously be something to overcome for wlad. i think it starts with ali dancing and wlad missing and after a few rounds wlad finds his range and it becomes a very competitive fight. i dont know to be honest. life depended on it...i'd take Wald on PTS

Look at the boxers who he is facing...you can't seriously be comparing the Heavyweights of today to Ali? :huh

Do some research on the sports history...styles make fights, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the boxer at a style disadvantage is going to lose the bout. Great boxers can overcome style disadvantages.
