Roy Jones never could've beaten one of the Klits. But I see where you are going and I agree, yes Joe Louis could've beaten John Ruiz :deal

Evidence evidence evidence....who gives a flying ****!! I have no "Anectodotal evidence" that Ray Robinson could've beaten Miguel Cotto either! So should nobody on this board ever friggin talk about Ray Robinson and how he would match up with todays fighters?

And who gives a **** if he's been knocked out? He has bounced back, and avenged at least the Brewster thing. Look Louis might catch him and knock him out, but if they fight 10 times, I'd pick Wlad to win 7 of them. Vitali? he beats Louis 10 out of 10 :deal

Yes because Sam Peter is one of best heavyweights of all time.

    Forgive my ignorance.

Only he could have the greatest heavyweight of all time down 3 times despite not being able to throw a proper punch to save his life.

    You guys are ****in clueless.

You watch boxing and just see two guys throwing punches, but don't know **** about what's actually going on in the ring.

My point, dingbat, was that you choose fighters from half a century apart in order to illustrate what I can only assume was your point, that modern athletes cannot compare those from earlier eras. :D

But you don't know anything about boxing, so you should be excluded from this conversation completely.

How the hell do you come to that conclusion? :patsch:lol:

Ok smartass, what fighter....who's prime fighting weight was below 205 and would be fighting those guys at 205 or below would you favor over them?

Remember Holyfield may have been prime below 205, but he fought Bowe at a much higher weight and Lewis as well and still lost to them 4 out of 5 times.

First of all, so was Haye. Second of all, of whom do you speak? Schmeling? Schmeling was the best Heavyweight of the era prior to Louis coming along, and an excellent technician by Heavyweight standards. Not to mention Louis disposed of him quickly in the rematch.

I'd ask you to use your head, but I'm not sure how much is in it.

Jesus, you are obtuse. I never said Wlad was the greatest of all time or even close to it. I simply said that he doesn't fight anything like Primo Carnera. I don' think you'll find much support for you ridiculous comparison. Also, I've been in the ring, friend. No, I wasn't a contender or a professional, but I know enough about what goes on in the ring to know that you don't know your ass from a tobaggon.

I'd personally favor Frazier over any of the guys you mentioned, Dawg. I've little doubt he would've KO'd Wlad and Bowe.

:good good job. I disagree completely.

    Tyson
    Bowe
    Holyfield
    Foreman
    Ali
    Klits
    Lewis

I'd favor everyone (All Prime) one of them in a head to head fight with Louis

Super HWs are nothing new or special, they have always existed and have always gotten their asses routinely kicked up until the point that boxing became a joke and MMA started gaining popularity.

A peak Holy would give them all the business, with exception of Bowe, the others don't fight inside well enough to hang With Holy or Louis, as for Bowe, he wouldn't be able to take the kind of Firepower Louis brings to the table.

No dingbat, that wasn't my point. I was merely stating that although training, fitness, nutrition techniques may have evolved over the years, it doesn't necessarily mean sports persons from bygone eras are the poorer relation of their counterparts today :D.
