Wladimir vs prime Ali

Definitely...I've always tried to take that into consideration, and like my last post pointed out...they have no-one to challenge them because they have beaten near enough everyone (everyone who will step in with them anyway).

But when talking about them against ATG's, who have beaten ATG's...apart from their physical advantages, and a couple other things...I havn't seen anything from them that makes me think they can even come close to beating a Prime Ali.

It is my opinion that current Wlad is a better defensive fighter than most everyone ali fought. I mean compare foreman, he is terrible defensively. Behind Larry Holmes i think you could say wlad has the best jab ever in the HW division. Wlad has much faster hand speed than Foreman and is close to him in power. He has better balance and much better footwork than foreman.

Wlad has learned to pace himself and will be there winning rds for the full 12. He is one of the smarter guys in the ring now at his age. Wlad in this style has mastered his ring generalship, it may be a boring style with safety first but he is terribly effective with it.

Wlad does have an ATG jab...Ali's jab was very good aswell. Also, this bout would be over 15 rounds.

It's never as simple as someone saying Wlad via KO because of the physical advantages he holds over Ali.

Or Ali would outbox Wlad.

But, the problem when arguing for a victory in the favour of either Klitschko is...Ali proved he can beat the best, he came out on top of the greatest era in Heavyweight boxing...beating 3 Top 10 ranked ATG Heavyweights along the way. The Klitschko's can't compare to that...

Compare PED usage from 1940 with today, this might give you an insight to shattered sports records.

 

i believe this is the best display of boxing and footwork ever recorded, what Ali does to Clevland Williams in this fight is what he would do to Wlad.. in his prime nobody could match his speed and timing. if u haven't seen this fight take the time to be entertained by the greatest of all time.

The Ali comparisons are amusing, and the Foreman ones are even more amusing. The George Foreman that Ali defeated would be an even worse match for WALDO than Ali. WALDO has better footwork than Foreman? Get the **** out of here with that.

 

Certainly the best performance by a HW I've ever seen - and Ali wasn't even close to prime then either. His prime was taken away from him, yet he's still the greatest :yep

 

Styles make fights. Wladimir would be a major problem for Ali as long as his stamina held, but that's the problem -- I don't think it would.

In a 12-round fight I think he could make an argument either way, but over 15 rounds Ali simply would outwork Wlad.

Ali is not invincible, however.

 

How do the Liston KOs factor into this?

Williams really isn't the case to make for Ali as the best ever.
