An idea of having these three featured in a tripleheader on HBO on Oct. 2 is being explored. This is good news and bad news. The good news is that it would be a hell of a card. The bad news is that this would mean Williams/Martinez probably won't happen this year.

They're talking about Berto fighting either Kotelnik(I hope not. No more JWWs Berto), or Bundradge at 154 for his title(good fight). Dzinziruk would fight Collazo(solid fight) and Caballero would fight someone like Litzau(good fight if you want to see Litzau get knocked out again). All in all, this seems like this would be a good card that would feature 3 champs/former champs who seem to have problems landing a big fight.

  2. That card isn't even that good.

Two are utter mismatches (Caballero/Litzau, Berto/Kotelnik) while Dzinziruk will most likely outbox Collazo.

I'd rather HBO spend their money on quality over quantity.

Berto vs. Bundrage , Dzinziruk vs. Collazo, and Cab vs. Litzau would be a good card. How many cards have been better than that recently? The one last week was, but not many are this good. If HBO can't get Williams/Marinez II, this is a pretty good backup plan.

I'd still rather see Williams/Martinez II... (even with Butterbean and Mia St. John on the undercard. lol)

I agree, Berto is following a terrible path down the darkside.

Why does everyone ignore that Bundrage is also being mentioned? Anyway, what Welter should he fight? HBO won't approve any of the Euro champs, and Mosley is coming off a lopsided loss. Cotto also has no interest in fighting him. I don't like the idea of a Kotelnik fight, but Berto has limited options right now. Hopefully, they chose Bundrage instead.

Berto should spend his time and money in Haiti helping his people. Everlast could help his honorable cause. Or he could grow a pair and fight somebody.

Clottey just came off a lopsided loss to Pacquiao. In fact, Clottey has lost his last two fights. Berto is trying to build himself up. How does fighting a guy coming off two losses, with no fanbase, and who is viewed right now as having no heart help Berto's cause?

Top ten ranker in his own weightclass. Came off a loss to pac, but that's pac... I'm aware that Berto doesn't have the most options of everyone in the boxing game but Clottey is a better pick than Kotelnik, who's just coming off a loss of his own and is almost 33.

Kotelnik is not a good choice, and I'd be surpised if they went that route. DiBella can't continue to make the same mistake he made with Taylor. They put Taylor in there with all those awkward fighters and he never looked good. They keep putting Berto in there with lefties and awkward fighters like Forbes. They don't need to put him in there with another tricky fighter like Clottey or Kotelnik uless it's a big money fight. Bundrage seems like a good choice under the circumstances. Bundrage will come to fight, and will give Berto the opportunity to look good(or possibly get stopped). Beating Bundrage will also open up Berto's options at 154.

Well, I mean beating Clottey would make him a better fighter which is what Berto really needs now more than anything, good fighting EXP to combat his awful inactivity. He can win a belt from Bundrage but what will that accomplish? Will he take a Cotto fight in a unification bout? He doesn't have the skills to beat Cotto right now.
