Debate and opinion is his great and what it's all about on a forum, but things are getting ridiculous here, with the endless posts on the subject of my "favourite fighter is the best, could beat so and so, could have one should have won", etc etc. Fighters fight, precisely because the only way to know who is more skilful, or luckier of the night, is to fight. Otherwise there would just be forums like this deciding who the champion was by debate.
Every post you make suggests this is the wrong sport for you It's our passion for the sport that fuel discussion. Simples.
what are you reffering to? we dont really discuss a lot of hypethetical matchups here. This content is protected
So you are saying this thread makes sense, thanks. I have to disagree it is here in the MMA Forum where the nightmare of endless punditry, and sycophantic hero worship is worst. Boxing matches are considerably less dependent on luck. top-10 ratings are far more reliable. so there is far more real evidence about the ability of a fighter, so discussion is slightly more based on facts. What really pisses me off is that this forum is full of teenagers, and am not talking about anyone here, that hero worship their latest favourite MMA star to such an extent, that they seem to believe that if the fighter bent over, laser beams would shoot out of his arse, and stun his opponent with sheer awesomeness.
Sorry if I am mistaken, but aren't you the guy who believes they should stand people up after one fighter gets the mount?
I'm not big on hypotheticals myself, so I just try not to get into them too much. I like to discuss actual fights before and after
What happens regularly James is that some idiot posts anti-MMA topics in the General forum and the mods move it to the MMA forum. For a few days we get a sideshow and then the trolls slowly die away. Personally I would rather the Mods delete troll topics and warn posters than place them here.
I am not so big on hypothetical matches either. sometimes though they can be interesting when matching particular styles. I thought (dont know if I stated my opinions here) that sonnen would get a serious beatdown, that he would have a difficult time landing on anderson from inside his guard. I was wrong, very wrong, and your right when you say that people sometimes pretend to know the outcome of a fight before it happens to the point that anyone who disagrees "doesn't know what their talking about." I agree that a narrow minded attitude can be irritation, I am frustrated with it myself. I just dont know why you chose to make a thread about it here when as rob_floyd stated it is far more common in the boxing forum.
I consider this to be your forum, I'm just a guest really. And that my attempt to be part of this forum community is a failure. There is a lot of good intelligent posters here who I respect. But it's a universal problem that there is a hell of a lot of idiots that swarm like flies to **** as it were, to any intelligent discussion and ruin it. It's like having a discussion with someone and there are these nose picking wankers lurking nearby who can hear what you say, and whenever they like can stick their head in your face and say "Oy you're a ****ing moron", "you're a troll" " and you hate MMA". Its just not worth the bother.
