I think Floyd is being blackballed

My theory is behind closed doors, FLoyd is being told by HBO and Golden boy that he must fight Pacquiao next. There will be no more easy tuneups or set ups, no more free passes, you've had enough, son. You're next fight is with Manny Pacquiao, period, end of discussion. It's like an ultimatum.

Floyd is not happy about it and tried to use a power play by running to Don King to rescue him. But that's not going to work out because King has no pull whatsoever at HBO. Showtime is out of the question because they don't have the money that Floyd wants/needs.

Now Arum is saying they are going to wait for FLoyd and they will get him in May 2011. Or if Floyd does the unexpected and mans up for November, Arum and HBO can easily push Margarito aside and still do Nov.

Either way, it looks like doomsday for Floyd. He has no options at all - except to man up and take his beating from Pacquiao.

There truly is nowhere left to run or hide, HBO has closed off all Floyd's options and it's either man up or forever wear the tag roped around his neck of being a coward. A plausible theory?

Doubt it. Floyd is still the cash cow of boxing, he could fight anyone and make HBO money. Btw, Floyd whips Balquiaos ass.

He either fights Pac and silences the critics or he doesnt and is forever known as a coward.

Why are you trying to pass this theory off like you made it up, instead of giving Scoop Malinowski credit?

In any case, the theory is BS. He just had two fights in which he did 2.4million PPV buys. HBO is not concerned with Mayweather's courage, but his marketability. If Mayweather was not in the driver's seat he would not have felt comfortable snubbing an HBO interview during last Saturday's fight.

Whoever Mayweather fights it is being supported by HBO, so stop fantisizing that he is being pushed out of the buisness.

why in the hell would he need a tune-up fight. this is one of the things wrong with boxing today the best rarely fight each other and its always some excuse, like my ***** hurts or some **** like that more than being blackballed

hbo let roy jones (who didnt do half the numbers floyd does) fight any garbage man he wanted for YEARS without giving him an ultimatum. You think they are giving one of their top draws an ultimatum to make a fight he might lose and thus lose some marketability? not likely...

Haha, that is true. Roy fought a string of civil service workers that included a police man, sanitation worker, subsitute teacher, etc....

Reading the original post about a blackball theory of HBO on Mayweather I don't buy it. Mayweather is the biggest draw in boxing he could fight anyone and do big money.

oh no he can't cause his numbers were a big draw cause his opponents look at his numbers with carlos baldomir, sharmba mitchell, henry bruseles, zab judah even that was a big name but he was on a cross road at the time but the numbers didn't do all that he claims

Do you really not realize that this is an invalid argument?

    Are you slow?
