BoxScene spoke to Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo about the recent buzz created by his allegedly turning down a fight with WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez

. Angulo's manager Mike Criscio told ***********'s Lem Saterfield that he thought Angulo should have accepted the offer of $750,000 for the fight. "There has been a lot of talk that i dont want to fight Martinez, and that im ducking him. That is absolutely not true,i think a fight between me and Martinez would be a great fight."He's a great champion.I felt that he beat williams, when they fought. I just want to be treated fairly."They offer me $750,000 for the fight, and i told them to give me a little more" stated angulo:

How much did he earned vs cintron? I think 750,000 is a good payday for him since he is not even a champion yet. I can't believe he would turn that much money down.

Even his manager said he was a fool for turning it down.

Which big main fight rewards him more than he's offered ? I can't believe how these guys are getting delusional about the financial aspet of the game...

Basically, this is another case of a high risk fight that he'll most likely lose, therefore he wants to cash out a little before losing some of his high profile boxing persona at the moment...

Truth is, he doesn't necessarily deserve much more unless someone can truly prove what he brings to the table revenue wise.

Once again if I were HBO, I would seriously tell them to sit their asses at home for a while if they refuse such an offer.

This has Shaw written all over it...
Gary more than not has probably placed this thought into Angulo's head. (His worth)

After only having fought only 20 fights, and losing to kermit cintron that $750,000 is a good offer especially living in mexico:

It's all ****ing HBO's fault for over paying fights.

How much did he get for a one round destruction of Alcine? I'm pretty sure it was a good pay. Now, the guy does not attract montrous crowds and rating but is getting paid **** loads of money to beat up Alcine. It's no surprises that he is delusional about how much he is worth. :patsch

He priced himself out. He's not a champion. He's never been a champion. He only has 20 fights. He lost to Kermit Cintron. He is not a mainstream attraction. Come on! Turning down a career high payday and middleweight championship including the lineal championship.

    Martinez would have schooled him.
