I would'nt go that far; Dirrell was green as hell and taking a step up in competition. He was in his opponents backyard, his first fight in the tournament, and taking on a guy coming off stopping Taylor to win the title away from home. He fought negatively but if you take the above into account you can understand his mentality. A lot of people forget that on here LOADS of people were predicting Froch to brutalise him and stop him around half way. Dirrell took it the distance and gave a good account of himself in the last 3 rounds (two of which he'd never done in his career before). The real shame is after seeing his outing against Abraham he could have really done a number on Froch. In fact if he'd fought all the way through like he did in rounds 10 and 11 he'd have walked away with the W.
The stats say you're wrong. And you have to be fair, anyway. Even if you think that the Haye win was worse, he had a broken hand which excuses any criticisms. Outside of DQ's, injuries etc., has there ever been a championship fight were the belt changed hands after a worse performance than Dirrell's? MichiganWarrior, please only pick fights you've seen.
At least he tooks his beating like a man. He could have held all night, ran like a girl and cried any time Tyson came with 6 feet of him. Spinks was just in over his head.
My eyes tell me I'm right, he boasted about how exciting he was and proceeded to put on one of the most boring displays I have ever witnessed and I don't want to hear any excuses about his broken hand because he fought the same way for 12 straight rounds, he didn't come into the fight with a broken hand did he?
The guy just whipped the **** out of Froch all night. The difference in skill, quickness and ability was so amazingly wide that Froch looked like he was fighting while shitfaced. Other than landing a handful of rabbit punches Froch probably landed about 8 clean punches and along with getting his asswhipped in front of his home fans was made to look foolish. Even his own ****ing fans knew he lost...There wasnt a ****ing soul in Nottingham there to congratulate Froch on his victory after the fight. No ****. Just because you're British doesnt mean you're blind...
Dirrell fought like a scared chicken and Carl Froch fought like a Toughmen contestant. In other words. Both looked like complete ****. One of the worst fight in years. On the other hand. Both looked good in their next fights. So major props for that.
If Dirrell looked that bad, Froch really looked a lot worse, as the the Slowbra lost more rounds than he won that night.
Man held ran and ducked for 9rd. That's not how u win a world title. Funny thing is if he commuted he could of stopped froch. There and in Abraham fight he gained a nickname of "the ***** direll"
