The scene has been informed that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will not proceed with a scheduled September 11 fight with Pawel Wolak in Mexico. Wolak's manager Ivan Edwards received a call from Top Rank, who informed him that Chavez has not been in the gym and is likely unable to move forward. After some haggling over the money, Wolak agreed to take $75,000, but Edwards is very upset with the recent events..........................WAR COTTO:bbb

JCC jr is an idiot. He's getting rushed into a fight he can't possibly win, and he knows it. Yet he does whatever he is told to do by Arum, whilst he could slowly improve his level of competition so that he could be ready for a big fight. Cotto is going to make mince meat out of him, what a waste of a career.

Staying busy and fighting a decent opponent in Wolak is exactly what Jnr should have been doing. He wouldn't have beaten Cotto anyway but he should at least have given himself a chance.

If he can't be bothered to go to the gym now, I doubt his motivation is going to increase after he loses his undefeated record and takes a pummeling.

hey man I'm not a fan of Jr, but win or lose he gets my respect. He's at the point where he has to risk it and either become a better fighter because of it. he can't be stuck in limbo forever and needs to grow balls to fight the best. despite Cotto getting flogged by Pacman and Margarito he is still one of the best fighters today. no shame in losing to Miguel Cotto especially if Jr goes down as a warrior. Arguello, Mancini, Rafa Marquez, many, many had early career losses that only made them better. Jr needs to take that risk. he is young still where a loss is not as big of a deal as when a fighter is at a crossroads. it should be a win-win situation

He needs to slowly improve his level of competition, fighting Wolak was a step in the right direction. After that, he could go on to fight someone like Martirosyan before taking on Cotto. But allowing himself to be rushed into a fight with Cotto is just stupid. If he gradually improved his level of comp, then he's have a better chance.
