Pacquiao vs Margarito catchweight will be at 151lb according to Arum

Margo has spent most of his career at 147,everytime he fought at 154 people complained that he was not the same fighter(many said that when he lost to Santos),at 151 he will still be much bigger than Pac,He would be slower at 154 than he will be at 151,so how is this 151 catchweight to Pac's advantage?

 

Margarito's fight night weight is more interesting to me then the catch weight.

He weighed 160 vs Mosley on fight night after weighing in at 145.8.

If there was no advantage to be had, the fight would be at the 154 limit. If Pac wants to be a warrior and go for the 8th weightclass title, he is removing the advantage that the bigger man has in the division they are fighting in. What's the point of this **** then? Margo is clearly comfortable at 154. If Pac wants to beat him in that weightclass for the "unprecedented" 8th title, he should do it within the rules of the division. This is now essentially a welterweight fight for the JMW title.

 

There's a rule that stipulates a minimum weight?

No it's not. Try weighing in at 151 for a WW title fight and see what happens.

It's a goodie. I had a big **** eating grin when I found it.

 

There is nothing that I have seen that says a title fighty MUST be at the weight limit. NOTHING. So what are you going to ban? What if one guys weighs 147, the other guy comes in at 146 (as Cotto did once). Then what? Non-title fight? Cancel it?

And how do you know Margarito is not OK with it being 151? Is there anything to suggest he cannot make that weight? Or that he doesn't even want to fight there? If ther is, I haven't read it yet.

As long as there is a weight RANGE, and both parties agree on a specific weight. Then there is no harm done. Not to the boxers, and certainly not to the history of boxing.

 

Margo will still be the bigger man at 151 not to mention that his best weight has always been 147 thats where he had his best wins and his best performances,everytime he moved up he didnt look like the same fighter,Pac will be fighting at his highest weight ever against a much bigger fighter and yet people say hes the one with the advantages thats BS.
