Pascal sort of gets under Dawson's skin at the Press Conference today by telling.....

Yup smart money is on him winning by UD or Pascal getting pulled by his corner.

If Pascal was to get KOed I'd actually expect it to be later then the fourth (i.e. rd 6-8). I just fear that pascal will be so open to being hit that he'll just be overwhelmed by Dawson.

Also Pascal is an emotional fighter and in the Carl Froch fight and the Branco fight he did show a lot of nerves early. Especially in the Bronco fight where he admitted that Bronco's size did intimidate him because it was the first fighter he'd face that held a serious size advantage over him. Hopefully that is all in the past and dispite nerves he did well in both fights.


Additionally, I don't by the idea that Chad is cautious early. Actually if you look at the way he fights he takes the most chances early and its only after he feels he's in control that he steps off the gas. Its one main reason why he produces stinkers and that he has lost concentration late in fights and got caught.

 

Glen Johnson almost knocked Dawson out in their first fight. Dawson could not knock out an old man. I give Pascal a puncher's chance, a good one, but the judges have already filled out their cards for Dawson.

Bad Chad is going to have to use that jab on overtime. Pascal is a real threat for Dawson since Adamek. Pascal knows his only chance is to go for broke, so Dawson is gonna have to watch himself. Don't want an upset happening.

 

I previously thought that Pascal's only chance was to bring Dawson into a brawl. That's now what everyone thinks, including Dawson. That may mean it won't happen like this. The main advantage Pascal may have on Dawson is his intelligence. What if Pascal was clowning aroud at times and suddenly coming inside for a fast flurry and ending by some dirty clinching? How would Dawson react?

In a conventional fight, Dawson wins for sure. Making the fight an awkward could give him a little chance to win.

 

Dawson wins then he whips Cloud's ass.

Pascal leaves his head in the same spot when he swings. He's gonna get a beating whether its a brawl or boxing match.

He does take an occasional round off, like he did in the first Johnson fight.

That's because he's fought Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver twice in those 3 years. And both guys have some of the best chins of this era. Neither Johnson or Tarver have ever been hurt like Pascal has been against Pittman, Froch or Diaconu.

 

Pascal's gonna be schooled.

 

Either way the fight goes, it's going dawson's way. If pascal tries to brawl then he's getting laid out. Which means he's getting laid out because he has a snowballs chance in hell of outboxing dawson. Pascal will be the slow man in the ring for the first time and will be confused just from the dawson jab and footwook.
