How much does "No Mas" effect your views of Duran?

What surprises me is how little most of you know about the whole situation. Leonard said in an interview that he knew duran blew up between fights. That he knew Duran would never turn down a plate of food, or a cerveza offered by a fan. Now that is Duran's fault. But what leonard is on record as saying, is that he pressured Duran's manager into giving a rematch much sooner than it should've happened. He intentionally fought a Duran who was not in prime shape. He intentionally and consciously fought a man who did not have enough time to train. Which is COWARDLY! Leonard is even on record as saying that Duran truly was the best. Leonard has admitted to all of this. So for this rematch, leonard clowned around with an overweight, not even close to prime shape Duran. All the while being a part orchestrator of the situation. Some of you guys need to get some real boxing knowledge. Because this is shameful. Putting down on a legend when you don't know what the hell you are talking about. You want proof? Just ask for it, I'll be all too glad to oblige.

What a load of total **** this is. Duran has only one person to blame for this loss, himself.

These fights are a mere 5 months separated. Duran up to that fight had something like 50 professional fights. He wasnt some green undeveloped prospect. He also went on to have some incredible, great wins and fights.

Your post is equivalent to saying that no one should ever fight hatton.

Not so. Duran is responsible for his overindulgence. I am totally aware of that. What I have a problem with is a supposed warrior admitting to wanting to fight an out of shape opponent. An opponent who is not 100%. And actually orchestrating a rematch with an out of shape opponent. No serious boxing fan could or should condone that.

So what if Leonard did push through a fight when he knew Duran would struggle to be 100% after making weight, Duran was a big boy and it was his responsibility to make sure he was in great shape going into the fight, the fact that he didn't and ended up quitting is his problem.

 

i think its kind of bull**** that duran gets excused by some, you never quit out of some silly reason that the guy is clowning you, i don't care if its duran ali or ray robinson.
