How much does "No Mas" effect your views of Duran?

Exactly if anything its more shameful than what Ortiz did. The right way to go would have been to just rough him up or just catch him and go wild which would result in him being KD or out. Im thinking thats what he was trying to avoid.
Duran might be the most overrated boxer here on ESB. Yes he was great but people make him out to be a god when really he lost to the other 4 of the fab 4.

 

SRL said he did all that himself moron. And no where did I say it excuses anything Duran did, it just adds to the information surropunding the situation. Grow up moron... :roll:

 

Come on man. Quit with this bull****. The man quit period it has nothing to do with SRL thinking he could psyche Duran out by clowining around and a quick rematch. He quit in a disgraceful manner but he's still a legend, move on.

 

When you make blanket statements like this is just shows how much of a fool you are. As MANY said, th REST of Duran's career more then makes up for this one fight. If you want to focus on one fight...that's all you little boy. :thumbsup

man, duran certainly divides opinions and splits this forum. it's hard not to: he's sometimes the most loved and sometimes the most disrespected fighter on ESB.

he quit. no denying that. he quit when he was behind, no denying that either. why did he quit? some debate that but it seems most likely it was because he was going to lose, getting embarassed and refused to let that happen. he had no idea what the consequences were.

whether that affects his legacy is personal but simply for a man whose persona, reputation and passion are in his warriors code and machisma, quitting cuts pretty close to the core

 

I think he gets excused for quitting because of the other great fight(best fight out of the trilogy imo) he had with Leonard in the first fight. He showed alot of heart there but I'll admit as a fan of his he did show a lack of heart in the second fight. I feel the rest of his career makes up for it even though I don't like quitting, I'm too competitive for that.

 

Who's sensitive? Do you often invent emotions for others? There's nothing for me to be sensative about. But hey, if it makes you feel better, go nuts.
