Heavyweights seem to have a habit of standing still, hands down taking punches then blow up when the ref stops it.

Not saying thats exactly what happened here, but beck needed to show more. It probably was a bit early all the same. Alex is very game but he is too reliant on the overhand right. A rated heavy with a solid jab will give alex fits imo.

A shout out to my ol mate phil austin. He did a great job with langham v king. Langham is a spoiler and has a bit of **** in his game. When he gets heat, he always tries to tackle the opponent. Phil was on to it and took points off. Good call.

As kegs mentioned, nice win to olartes. Fighting at middleweight when he is a lightweight and started here at jnr feather. Maybe pac is sending him some supplements in the mail. Lol

A couple of those bombs were rocking "What the Heck's" head back and forth and i couldnt believe it, what a solid chin. Alex did well to stay on his chest and minimalise the chance of getting outboxed.

Also great work from our own Phil Austin, did a awsome job and should have been the Ref for the main event.

Yeah, good work Phil, but what was Ryan Langham thinking?

Credit to King. But what an indifferent performance from Langham.

Probably ought to get a sponsor for the underside of his boots.

....never seen a guy off his feet so many times in 3 rounds!

Terrible stoppage, Beck's been around a long time and fought some great fighters, for that fight to be stopped like that when there had been no knockdowns the entire 6rds was disgraceful.

Leapai had the bigger power shot and looked like getting the stoppage possibly later on in the fight, but i had Beck stealing some of the early rds with his boxing. Leapai leads with his head and gets hit too much.

Anyway good win for Leapai but another shady decision which will scare any future o/s fighters from possibly coming here in the future.

Even though Alex was on his way to a win I believe once again it was stopped too early. What about putting a standing 8 count on Beck. 2 fights in a row now for Alex that were stopped too early. Did anyone else notice the melon on the one of the corner men in Beck's corner. He was carrying the towel..........I wished he put it over his head ha ha.

After the 1st 5 rounds i think i had it 49-46 or 4 rounds to 1 for Leapai.
Tho it could also very easily have been 48-47 or 3 rounds to 2 for Leapai.
It definitely was not all going Leapai's way, however he was in front.

Thought the Walker stoppage was fair. But perhaps a little on the quickside. Remember though, word had it that Walker had virtually called it to the ref.

The stoppage last night on Beck certainly looked premature from the TV screen, and the pattern of the fight. But the ref's closer to the action. Beck had worn plenty over the course opf the fight, and perhaps his eyes told the ref he was gone.

I thought Leapai won only 2 rounds including the 6th.
Beck had the superior work rate and couldn't miss Leapai's noggin every time he threw a punch. Well impressed with the way both big men were moving.
Leapai is ever dangerous no matter how many cracks on the head he us getting.
I was stunned Beck wasn't given a standing 8, was this not allowed?

It has to be said Leapai would be dangerous in front of many top class world heavies at the moment.
The upcomming Danny Williams fight should be reconsidered and the Lionheart camp should take this momentum to the next level and get passports and get over to the USA.

Im not sold on Leapai's stamina at all, when he faces legit world ranked fighters.
Seems to gas at times then explodes in bursts to conserve energy.
No doubt Leapai is always dangerous with some of his wild swings & big brawling power/pressure.
Whoever he fights when stepping up...you know he wont go down not trying...always gives his all in the ring.

I thought the stoppage was fair, Beck was gassed and on his last legs.

I had Beck up 3-2 going into the 6th.
    I gave Beck the 1st, 2nd and 4th.

The 4th was clearly Beck's round & the early rounds IMO were close.

They were mate, I know all 3 judges had it 3-2 to Beck also. The first 2 rounds were close but Beck landed more clean shots.

Not looking for an argument here Ben. I respect the fact that you really score fight, whereas the rest of us only play with it.

But have a look at the Leapai v Walker fight as an example, and how Leapai gets knocked down and both fighters are litterally out on their feet at various stages, and then compare that to the Beck stoppage.

My view is that the stoppage saved Beck from some punishment, as it was LIKELY, he was going down soon. But he probably deserved just a bit longer as it was no certainty, from what we could see on TV at least, that he was DEFINATELY going down.

Would appreciate your thoughts - but not looking to stir up a ****-fight mate.

props to Alex he got the job done.the stoppage was bull****
for Beck but that isnt Alex's fault.anyone else impressed by the 19yr old in the first fight?? Tyrone Jones i think his name was.he was on debut fighting a kickboxer in a 4 rounder.certainly a all-action fighter.from Nerang PCYC.wonder if Speedy spars with him or Teke knows him.hes gonna be fun to watch.well done Alex.hope the premature stoppages dont deter OS fighters coming to Australia.

Alex does eat a few too many punches.
