    knowing the classic forum, i know you may have seen this before and own 2 copy's which you borrowed from chuck davey when you met him in a bar in Connecticut back ninteenikkidytwoo. anyhoo, thought it was pretty fun to watch.

    Wow, to think that I saw both Willie Pep And Ray Robinson fight , both in\their great primes,so many years ago...Still without doubt the two best fighters i have ever seen live at their respective peaks...Ray1, Willie 2....

    Yep, 1938, in Hartford. Pep had a 62-3 amateur record, and Ray outpointed him for one of those three losses. The story goes that locals believed Robby might be a professional ringer, so he and George Gainford were locked in the clink overnight while Robinson's amateur credentials were checked and confirmed by an AAU official.
