That's crazy. Better late than never though. Hopefully he can still make 160 safely. There's some good fights out there for Pavlik. He's going to have to rebuild himself again. He's still young and he still has that power. If he can get his team right(a competant cutman, a nutritionist), he should be able to work himself back into the picture relatviely quickly.

Will there be another excuse if Williams clearly beats Martinez in the rematch?

lets hope it gets done. you could make an legit argument as to why one or the other should win. another foty candidate. your gonna get that with williams damn near everytime he fights a game fighter though.

Yep -- PDub comes to fight -- and that cannot be debated.

I could be wrong, but I think he'd beat Martinez convincingly in a rematch. I thought he won the first fight by a round or two, and I do not think it would be controversial if not for the one wacked out score card. This time he'd have much better preparation and knowledge of what he's up against.

Yep. Paul's room for improvement is much greater than Sergio's.

And I'm just laughing at all these ***gots who think he's scared of getting in the ring with him.

i agree that martinez looked a bit overwhelmed at times (especially down the stretch) in the first fight despite landing very clean crisp shots. however, martinez took the fight on short notice as well and he himself had not fought since the cintron debacle. so on the flip side of the coin, he will also have much better prep and knowledge of what he's up against. also, i think maravilla came into the pavlik fight around 168ish and looked awesome. i can't remember what williams weighed on fight night w/ sergio but sergio may very well be growing into the better mw of the two considering what williams has to do diet wise to get the mw level.

Team Williams should simply stop being delusional and we have a fight!

Paul! Don't let your fans down, let down the critics - sign the damn contract! :deal

Paul hasn't let his fans down. He may have let his haters down a little from time to time.. but this fight alone isn't going to determine what people think of a guy like PW.

I think Williams himself knows that this single fight can determine what people think of him - that's why he's hesitating to sign. :yep But people already talk negative of him, so the way I see it, he'll have to fight for his rep. And he shouldn't worry too much about losing, sometimes your stock can rise even in defeat, just ask Maravilla!

I think Paul knows he doesn't belong at MW. Worst thing that happened to him was meeting Winky there and getting ranked.

That is a very interesting position to take as Williams' record has SEVERAL fights listed at MW while Martinez' has two. And Maravilla is ready to go catch-weight, not for selfish reasons like a Pacquiao, but to get someone - ANYONE - into the ring.

The MW championship being offered by a natural LMW you already 'beat' - can you dream of anything better? (the small middlewight is on the right)

You are talking non-sense. Martinez does not have a fight because he calls out 39 year old welterweights, and light-middleweights who have a whopping 20 fights. The man has not so much as uttered the name of a middleweight, and diBella is backing his play 100%. Read the ****ing news!
