Arum works for Pac. Pac accepts the deal.

No fight is easy in the sense some fans think it is.

But fighting Margarito is an easier choice than fighting Sergio Martinez, Paul Williams, even Alfredo Angulo which would be a better fight.

How can Margarito even be ranked at jrMW?
He is not even a top guy at JrMW (except for the bought rankings)

he is not at all close to Sergio and Paul.

YES, he does when it is said to be for a Title. Again, this is why having so many belts today makes the sport watered down compared. History is being watered down in the sport of more divisions and more belts.
Am I mistaken...is this for a title or not?

If it were just a move up and he want to test the waters, absolutely, go ahead. But not for a Title.

The difference with Pac is that he is supposed to be about "history" and all that other b.s. they trying selling the fans that a lot of fans buy into. At least if he, and the fans, admit its about MONEY and carefully match-ups to prolong your career...that's at least cool for being honest even though it's not what most fans want to hear nor want to see.

Even Mr. Vacation admitted it's about "Cashing-Checks" and not about "Legacy."

So its Pac's fault that this fight is for a title?

Yes, he is part of it because he is going along with Corrupt Bob Arum, who he hired, and the corrupt ABC organizations.
He doesn't have to be for it. He could say he is against it.

Pac will still be paying the sanctioning fees. He can refuse it. Others have.

Anyway, I figure this fight is about Money and keeping active. But still, the title is a big problem because it is cheating history, although even history is overall debatable for importance when discussing boxing because few remember and eventually all forget...but anyway, to add in... more importantly, a slap in the face of more deserving fighters like Sergio Martinez who should still be regarded as the Real Champ. If it is for a title, fight the best.

Will Pac continue to stay at jrMW and fight Sergio and/or Paul Williams?

    Fought bigger david diaz
    fought much bigger delahoya
    fought 140 lbs king hatton
    fought natural welter cotto
    fought much bigger clottey
    now fighting much bigger margarito

Need to get off the "Pac is about legacy" ****. Sometimes people take things too literally.

Yesm, you are mistaken, it's not for a title. There..you KNOW it is, please don't ask **** you know the answer to.

And this is for a mere title. Not the recognized JrMW World Championship. ANd it's because of that, I don't read too much into the title. It's going to be about as meaningful as his 135 title. No one makes a big fuss over that. No one called him the World LW Champ. HE was just a titlist, which means he's a top contender at that weight. Nothing more.

he fought cotto after marg destroyed him

allota people are responding by deferring to pbf as a bigger cherrypicker. OK, you're right pbf is a coward. Why is pac doing the exact same thing and he's not a cherrypicker?

Yes just like Cotto cherry picked over Mosley because size and style that Mosley had over Pac.

I don't blame them though. Pac needed a couple more fights to get accustomed to fighting at WW so to fight Mosley so early would have been a gutsy but dumb move even if they got him to come down to 140.

Margo is a cherry pick as there are better fighters out there at this moment but its another good move as there is no reason to make big gambles until the Mayweather fight is completed.

There's a bit of cherry-picking involved here. I'm positive Roach would not have taken this fight if wasn't pretty convinced it was a "sure win" for Pac.

Nevertheless, if Pac demolishes Margarito he still deserves a shitload of credit.
Only a hater would refuse to accept this.:deal

i know boxers take fights that are more financially viable, but i honestly see this fight as completely meaningless. i wont give pacman anymore credit for beating margo as i would for beating yuri foreman. i know other fighters have took bs financial fights. yes floyd took on baldomir ahead of margo, and whilst it aint a great victory, atleast baldomir was on the form of his life and had just beaten judah and gatti, fights he ws the underdog for in both. he had significant recent victories to his name.

using that bs about why margo is a better option than williams, martinez and cotto. that is just showing your lack of sense. infact im not bothering with you anymore because you are, yet again, dismissing the opinions of others. i said you are entitled to your opinion, which you are, i aint dismissing it, i am respecting it. it is obviously too much to ask you to do the same.

scar - the reason i would see a cotto fight as bigger now is because he is a recognised champion at 154, and would now have a size advantage over pacman. yes i would expect the result to be the same, but atleast he would be a credible champ at that weight. well in my eyes anyways. and against dzindzuruk i no financially it could be less viable, but im sure it would be a much tougher ask, and would be a much better victory on his resume. maybe i am putting too much emphasis on legacy as opposed to financials. but you know after seeing floyd run from the pac fight, i was hoping that pacman would continue conquering the best names out there. he has recently beaten jmm, hatton, cotto and clottey. all them are top names who where top men in their division. i believe he gets no where near the credit he deserves for beating clottey, yes he looked shite but he had earned his shot, and was the most viable fight to make. he goes from that to this? i also appreciate it isnt his fault the fight is sanctioned as a title fight, but it is like a false legacy in my eyes. dont get me wrong, im not a pac hater, i think hes the best boxer outthere. that is my problem, the best should fight the best. margo is not, and has not been for 2 years, a top class fighter. i could be asking too much, and i could be ignoring the financial side of things, but i struggle to believe margo is the best option when all is considered. i even doubt this fight would make more than a fight vs cotto or dzindzuruk. when williams is begging him for a fight, i dont see why he hasnt taken that option? im sure the wbc could have got that fight sanctioned. it just annoys me that our top 2 fighters are doing this.
