But do you truly believe that prime Hopkins and prime Jones are just recognized by the American public? And not better by any stretch than the fighters on Erdei's resume? In my opinion Erdei has never, ever fought a fighter the caliber of a prime Jones or prime Hopkins, American or not.

 

Fair enough,but Jones tested positive once for endo in ripped fuel which at the time was available over the counter.His opponent at that time-Richard Hall-tested positive for it as well.Jones never tested positive again either before or after that incident.Hopkins,on the other hand,was recognized for having the most title defenses in middleweight history-even though NONE of his middleweight title defense victims were great middleweights.

 

I don't think Jones testing positive for Andro once, when it was available at grocery stores, is a big enough deal to put his greatness into question. Taking dietary supplements doesn't turn you into a Roy Jones, not even other professional boxers can take it and be Roy Jones all of a sudden, and a study was done a few years back, where a group of weightlifters half were given the real Andro, half were given a mock pill, there was no different strength levels at the end of the test.

 

I don't think it is actually proven to help, though some bodybuilders have said it makes them feel stronger.... But the only time Roy ever tested positive for it, his opponent had almost twice the level in his system... So Roy wouldn't have had the advantage anyway.

I think it wasn't good to test positive for it, but for me anyway it doesn't make me question the greatness of the fighter Roy Jones was. Andro could not have had that big of an effect if any at all, and he only tested positive once, back when it was common in dietary supplements.
