It is simple. Boxing is (outside of the megafights) is struggling in the USA where as MMA is building up a significant cult following.

I like both but I find that UFC gives me more value for money. Boxing undercards are ridiculous these days and to many boxers are either inactive or avoiding the best fighters.

Another victim of Jones' never-ending game of duck-duck-goose. :-(

Because they're both on leashes and eat out of their promoter's dog bowls? :think

Actually it would look more like an mma fight with Silva having to use his bjj skills to counter Wards wrestling tactics.

you have to compare anderson silva to mayweather or Pac cause that his equivlant in bocxing he is the pound for pound best in MMA, Ward is kind of new to a lot of people, plus MMA stacks up there undercards, I will say MMA might have better undercards then boxing

That's probably true. For a country without a lot of recent top talent in relative terms, Canada (especially the French area) does have some passionate fans.

They're still no Mexicans. Those muchachos are the p4p kings of North American boxing passion. :yep

Do you believe that Northern California has a higher than average rate of fans and fighters in MMA when compared to other spots in the U.S.? I don't know if it's just me or if everyone and their grandmother in Northern Cali is an MMA fighter.

I understand the unfair comparison to Ward. It's just disappointing that he takes a back seat to MMA in his own town.

Because MMA is taking over this ****!!!:D

Seriously though it's like everyone else has been saying, you can't compare Ward to Silva, who is arguably the numero uno of MMA. A better comparison for Ward would probably be somone like Jon Jones perhaps??

Boxing markets their fights poorly. Builds undercards poorly. Doesn't build up fighters well enough and is generally a promotional cluster****. The PPVs are worthless. Don't get me wrong, the UFC's product is generally **** but as of late it's been great and they take time to build everyone in their company up.
