You're both right and I stand corrected. It completely slipped my mind atsch Other then Ruiz getting obliterated by Tua...I've permanently erased Ruiz career and fights from my memory. Regardless it hasn't happened before Ruiz and hasn't happened since. So why not bust your ass and go for that place in history. http://cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/latino_champs.htm
David Haye calling someone a disgrace? Gimme a break. Haye is a disgrace. Arreola doesn't seem to have the desire to win the title after being defeated by Vitali. He barely trained for Adamek and only pushed himself when he was pushed tonight. Vitali, Wlad and a lot of other guys in the top ten would have taken that guy out of there tonight. Arreola is crude and has a lot of flaws aside from his weight issues but he gets his ass in the ring and doesn't duck anyone. Haye is a windbag that will get deflated once he is cornered.
I don't think Chris is a disgrace. Especially after this fight. He threw over 900 punches and knocked down the other guy with two broken hands. As for the weighing six pounds more deal from his last fight, MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT.
No. He just is lazy. Too bad i'd love to see him around 235. But he was also very over hyped and I was one who fell for it. His best wins are pretty weak, he's not commited and he pushes out his right hand, not crisp at all. But he's a tough SOB. I guess it can be considered disgraceful that he doesn't dedicate himself to his art when he has a great oppurtunity.
I'm no areola fan, but being risk adverse is just as bad in a boxer as being undisciplined IMO. I agree with the TS, CA is a decent entertaining HW (but no top contender)
Let's just say I'd rather have more fat slobs like Arreola or Peter who are blessed with just mediocre boxing talent but who have the heart to fight anyone anytime - rather those guys than have more idiots like Haye or Povetkin who are highly talented but lack the heart, passion and drive to be active and take dangerous fights when they're on the table.
:!: Watched the fight on ESPN with Arreola and Quezada. Arreola is a disgrace. The man has some talent and some people actually believe in him, but I can't look watch him anymore. I don't understand how someone that wants to be champion won't train to acheive that goal. He was lucky he was fighting a slightly weaker opponent or he could have gotten hurt this fight. Geez, Chris step up the roadwork and stop eating all those burgers... atsch
