Yes, Ali was cooked goods when Frazier gave him a whipping, but Williams was a spring chicken when Ali did likewise to him.

Best fight ive ever seen in person was Barrera-Morales I. Now that i think of it probably the best fight period. Limon-Chacon IV is right there though. 2nd best fight ive seen in person was Mckinney-Barrera.

Ali was better in '66 and '67, but he was fighting has-beens and second-raters, and guys who followed him around the ring like mummys.

Sure, he looked washed-up against Bonavena, but at least Oscar was a real rugged fighter who made Ali fight, not some passive mummy or has-been like Terell and Williams were.

Bobby Chacon vs. Bazooka Limon IV.

15 rounds of non-stop action, high drama, you name it, that fight had it all.

BB, you have no idea of what i would do, to have had the privelege of being at an event (it was more than just a fight) like F.O.T.C. What an occasion that must have been to experience first hand! I envy (in a good way of course) you guys in ths US, from all ages, who are/were able to go to the real big fights over the years. Some of the fights witnessed in this thread already, are ATGs so i humbley submit Mc Guigan-Taylor as probably the best ive seen myself

FOTC is certainly the BIGGEST fight that I've seen in my lifetime,in terms of signifigance. It lived up to the hype, and then some.

I have the issue mate and I think Ort was referring to Buchanan's beautiful boxing in that fight and that he wanted to go against the grain. Even so, it still seems an odd choice.

Cleveland Williams is no Joe Frazier.

Ali was definitely a little ring rusty in the FOTC,but he was still an awesome fighter. He'd have been a tough cookie for most other prime heavies to beat on that night.

Speaking as a massive Ali fan,I find his performance in the Williams fight a tad overstated,in comparison to some of his others. Muhammad did n't have much to beat on that night.
