I think I'm leaning towards Dawson still, but definitely not ruling Pascal out. Would be awesome if he could do it.
Based on the stare down?!?! Even though there is massive stylistic advantages for Dawson? I'm willing Pascal to win it, big time, but I've already accepted he will probably lose a wide UD and look clumsy as ****. Pascals best (only?) oppurtunity is to chuck the kitchen sink at Chad whenever he takes time off.
I've got £10 each on Pascal by stoppage in the 10th, 11th & 12th rounds. Boxing Monthly are predicting Pascal too, but on points. Really can't see why Dawson is such an overwhelming favourite, 4/6 maybe but not 1/3 and shorter :nut
I don't think Dawson is the sum of his parts. I think he's overrated, not **** by any means, but not the P4P awesome technician some believe him to be. I really like Pascal, but I think he matches up well with Dawson. I mean, if Frochy can keep you on the end of his jab I really,r eally want Pascal to pull it off, just can't see it happening...
Pascal got away from what was working for him early against Froch. He would move and throw combinations, and then decided just to try and bang Carl out. Really silly. But he does look to have improved and he's using his attributes to deliver hard shots. I had him beating Diaconu in the rematch by something like 5 rounds. But obviously, Dawson isn't Diaconu, and he isn't a pressure-volume puncher type either. Pascal will get space to work and, if he commits to throwing combinations, even if the first couple miss, he can catch Chad. If Dawson does his usual of switching off for spells, then Pascal can get to him. Dawson's not had to face a guy with the reflexes or power to seriously hurt him in his last four fights. I think Pascal opposition in Diaconu has been better. Dawson's the favourite and rightly so, but Pascal can win this if he keeps working and uses his speed and power to keep Chad honest.
I'm still backing Dawson on this one, but that video has got me pumped for this fight. Burst out laughing at Pascal at 5mins when he pointed at Dawson, think Dawson said at the stare down "don't **** with me" Pascal as always means business.

was on a boxing podcast i listen to called on the grind, saying Dawson wanted to pull out a few weeks ago, and had been struggling in sparring. although they pointed out they've heard this about dawson before. i dont think he is mentally the toughest, with the canadian crowd, if things aren't going his way he could get behind on the cards and not be able to pull it back
