Why would I ignore you? This is only one subject that I think what your saying is completely insane.

This is a hell of a funny thread. I got a nice chuckle reading some of these posts.

Population has jack all to do with boxing, else china and india would be dominating the sport.

Europe has about 900 million people, USA has 270 million.

Not only are you wrong in your statements that the population is similar in terms of numbers, you are wrong entirely with your premise that the size of a country means it will produce good boxers.

You just got owned. Thanks for playing jackwagon

Good post, although some like Cerdan don't count because they are outside the 35 year window of the thread. However,I like Michael Spinks over perhaps any lightheavy in history(defo over Jones and Michelzewski, maybe easy) except for someone like Ezzard Charles, who doesn't count because he's outside the 35 year window.I firmly believe that Marvelous Marvin Hagler would have beaten Hopkins or Cerdan, although Cerdan was before the 35 year anyway. At 154,I'd take Hearns or Leonard over Norris, and Leonard already ko'd Kalule.I know Norris beat Leonard, and even though I ****ing hate Leonard, but that was the shot version. At 126,I'd take prime Little Red over both prime Gainer and prime Hamed in a milli-second.Depends on you criterior of nationality, but would you classify Wilfredo Gomez as American because he's from US territory Puerto Rico?Whether or nor he counts,I believe he takes Junior Jones or Monshipour. At bantam,Ayala was good, but was he better than PRIME Jeff Chandler? Not sure about that one.As far as 168 is concerned,my favorite ever is one of the originals in tartan wearing Scot Murray Sutherland.Even though Jones and Calzaghe probably would have beaten him,he mainly fought at 175 and showed fantastic toughness against some extraordinary comp in that era of lightheavies.

The 35 year window only applies to the US. Read the OP - it says all-time best in Europe vs best in US from last 35 years. Hence guys like Cerdan, Wilde and Loi, who all were more than 35 years ago.

Yeah, you're right that it probably should have been Spinks at LHW and Little Red at FW, who for some reason I was thinking was more than 35 years ago. I wouldn't could Puerto Ricans as USA - usually they're separated for competitive and national identity purposes.

And as mentioned in a different post, I should have had Benvenuti for Europe at 154, in which case he gives a lot of guys problems.

What great American did overrated Benn own?Fellow overrated(but not great) Gerald McClellan-in London by the way, which last time I checked isn't America's back garden?Who,pretty tough but nothing special Barkley and DeWitt? And maybe, just maybe,Americans don't like going to London because they didn't want to get bombarded by full beer tins like Hagler was after his Minter victory.

Gotta tell ya,Brick. You're one of the best posters on the General.Cheers,man:good.I must have just read it wrong.I thought the 35 year applied to both. You're right about Nino.Terrific fighter. But I still like Tommy Hearns and Leonard over him, though. If we're going past the 35 for Europe, then Fitsimmons is a possibilty from mid to lightheavy, although I haven't seen enough of him to have a real opinion. But Wilde would be a real intiguing choice, too, although I've never seen anything of him either.

I'd favor Marvelous Marvin Hagler to destroy overrated Benn(who was destroyed by Michael Watson at middleweight) and I'd favor Marvin to convincingly beat Eubank. And if you look at both Brickhaus' and my other posts, you'd see that Europe would be handily beaten.
