    Is WNF back for good or is this a one-shot deal? :shock:

    They did a single Wednesday boxing broadcast last year, for some armed forces charity IIRC.

    It would be great for the sport if we had bi-weekly boxing on high-profile basic cable again.

    Anyway, Despaigne and Lara will probably shine in one-sided showcases. It'll certainly be worth tuning in to check out, but apparently we are getting this in lieu of a FNF this week...and FNF has generally been of high quality this year with more competitive cards than this (leaving aside the last two weeks, which were competitive but of very low quality and honestly downright atrocious).

    Is this Andy Lee?

    If it isnt ill pass, I rather watch 2 bums fight each other in a competitive bout than watch a world class fighter fight some club fighter in a showcase bout.

    Speaking of Andy Lee, however - don't forget what happened against Vera. That is exactly why to watch these types of match-ups when prospects are still unproven on the world stage. :yep

    well to lara's credit he already passed the grizzled veteran test with grady brewer and with flying colors, i think he's the top cuban prospect. but yordanis?? as much as i like the cubans he's got "tough gatekeeper" written all over him.

    Never seen yordanis in action but i think Luis Garcia is going to be the next great cuban light heavyweight,hes got all the tools to meake it to the top

    Yep -- Brewer looked like he is finally completely shot. I talked all kind of smack about how if Lara beat Brewer I'd call him the real deal, and then Brewer just looked like ****, and still gave Lara hell in spots.

    I'm still not convinced Lara is anything special. He's like Danny Jacobs in the respect that something really seems to be missing.
