Why couldn't Dawson outbox Pascal when Froch could?

Dawson needed to let his ****ing hands go. For christ sake there were times when he couldnt miss Pascals pumpkin head but Dawson would land his combo and back up and just stare at him. WTF a complete disgrace loosing to a french canadian wearing pink trunks.

Froch has guts. He is not afraid to fight anyone. It's time that fans reward fighters who have guts. Love him or hate him, he has b*alls!

It's a simple case of a fighter merely improving and developing.

Pascal was super green when he fought Froch. Now he's in the groove:yep

Dawson was doing the opposite of panicking. He lacked urgency and was essentially far too passive and relaxed, this is what lost him the fight. His corner should have put some urgency into him and made him aware that the fight was slipping away from him and he certainly wasn't going to win it by jabbing and following Pascal around the ring.

Can't wait for Froch v AA either. Not a big fan of either guys style but these guys are beasts. This is one of the most exciting match-ups out there, it will be one for the ages.

Pascal is a better fighter than he was 2 years ago, smarter in the ring, more focused and experienced. At 168lbs, he was getting tired more often in the later rounds.

this is the difference between a fighter who has had to improve after a loss and somebody getting complacent about their 0 and ****ing up

Sorry dude but I think not only was he panicking but when he was about to hit the canvas, it was round 5 If I remember correctly, no one has mentioned it in any posts but Dawson was actually PULLING/HOLDING ON to Pascals left leg:lol:, if that is not panicking I dont know what is.

Yep, Pascal landed a big shot on him and Pascal was trying to follow up with more so Dawson grabbed him. That's a fairly standard tactic in boxing when you've been stunned and they're on top of you. I wouldn't call that panicking I'd call that a fairly level headed and common thing to do.

I've actually said this a couple of times (not a whole lot and haven't been shouting it to the rafters) but Dawson actually have a very inactive and lazy jab. He really doesn't use it that much. Please watch all of Dawson's fights with the sounds off. Rather then leading with the Jab Dawson much prefers to keep himself in a defensively sounds position and use his reflexes to evade punches and counter with interest as fighters are moving in or away. He is big problem tonight was that Jean wasn't a 40 yr old man. He was too quick for Chad to counter. The few hooks that he landed were good but he isn't used to a fighter with pascals speed and he was a step behind with his normal game plan tonight. I don't know if he can lead with the South Paw Jab because he's never done it before. He will have to do so if he wants to win a rematch.
