At 168 I'd go for Bute. At 175 Pascal might just take it, but it's gonna be close I think. Bute is very good at the inside with his uppercuts and bodyshots and can make it difficult for Pascal at the outside. At 168 Pascal is certainly less confortable and Bute will make him feel that. But at 175 Pascal is more at home and might just have the edge.
At either weight, I'm sure Bute does to Pascal what Dawson didn't deliver..which simply is outbox the man for 12 rounds. Sure he will lose a few along the way but Bute would time Pascal and counter his wide shots time after time.
Bute is quick, has lots of stamina, power, defense. Bute at 168 for sure and probably at 175, but I have not seen Bute at 175, so that is an unknown, but still, Bute has a lot of skills.
tough call bro. But I hope Pascal settles things with Dawson before moving to Bute. That 11th round gave Pascal's win a little bit of doubt. For now, he is king at Lt-HW. Best win on Canadian soil in this nation's history to be sure.
Dude it was the Jab Straight right hand that was scoring da points tonight. The wide shots were irrelavent.
I'd be much more interested in seeing this fight at a catch weight. Cause win lose or draw Bute has a bright future at 168 and I doubt he would gain enough weight to match Pascal's size at 175. At 172 its a pick'em fight. At 175 pascal has the edge.
Don't count Pascal out. Every time I have seen Bute get roughed up he as looked kinda lost. He clearly doesn't like that. Pascal is faster then any opponent Bute has ever faced... and would bring the fight to Bute. I'm really not so sure Bute would be able to dance all night.
I pick Pascal for several reasons: 1) Level of opposition; Bute has fought tailor made opponents that pose 0 style threat whatsoever. Andrade, Miranda, etc. They're all bull**** meant to cloud your vision of Butes ability against proper opposition. 2) Weight; Pascal has filled out nicely at LHW and it seems to be a proper place. So theres all these questions as to how well Bute could carry the weight. All these questions are uncertainty for Bute 3) Bute may have a touch more power but he's really nothing more than a slightly lighter and whiter version of Dawson, of which Pascal just beat the **** out of.
Pascal had a better than usual jab tonight but he didn't throw that many straight rights. He had a few good ones that scored well while he was storming on Dawson. Most of Pascal's other punches were as usual when he moved in close, wide and looping. The wide shots were irrelevant cause Dawson didn't capitalize on them. Dawson also rarely timed Pascal which Bute is great at doing. Also Bute is much more busy for 12 rounds than what Dawson displayed tonight...
